Hope everyone at MinnMax is well. I have recently been playing the 3ds again. And couldn't help but notice all the unique Nintendo games made just for it, many of which people have forgotten about. So here's my game for the podcast to play, let's call it. Do You Remember? Where the other members will buzz in if they remember a game when Ben list it. And then the person will try to describe it briefly. for Ben here is the list of games. Steel Divers, Sushi Strikers, Ever Oasis, Codename S.T.E.A.M., Hey Pikmin, Chibi Robo Zip Lash, Puzzle & Dragons + Super Mario Bros.

Hey CLCs, Another week down at my infamous (or famous) school. Up until today, it was a pretty normal week, teaching new poems, grammar practice, ETC……. But, during the final period of the day our principal came over the loud speaker and asked all the staff to check our emails. At first, I figured it was for a last minute faculty meeting, but what I saw was totally unexpected. He was requesting all the names of the students who we let use the bathroom during 4th period. Attached was a picture of one of the bathrooms completely vandalized and destroyed. The soap dispenser was torn off the wall, sinks cracked, toilet seats taken off the toilet, and various inappropriate drawings on the walls. Apparently this a new TikTok trend for middle and high school students. All of my students already knew about what had happened, and they are now referring to it as “the incident”. So my question: what was “the incident” at your high school/middle school that you will never forget? Best, Sean M.

Hello CLCs and Ben. As gaming journalists, you guys get to play a lot of games. I’m sure there’s also pressure that you HAVE to play at least a portion of a lot of games just to be able to stay part of the conversation. My question is, what percentage of games you’ve played in the last year have you actually rolled credits on? Is it most of them, or do you usually dabble in a lot of games? For games you don’t have time to finish, do you ever go read a plot summary just so you know what happened? Thanks and love the show.

Hey Minnmax Crew, While I and many others are celebrating Sora’s debut in Smash Bros, the Kingdom Hearts games are often mocked for their convoluted story. With that in mind, how about a game of Real or Fake: Kingdom Hearts Plot Points. I’ll describe a story event and you guess if it’s real or not. Full spoilers for all games. Thanks guys, Tanner Methven (Ben you’ve pronounced it “Met-Vin” but the first part is pronounced “Meth” like methamphetamine) -In the first game, it’s implied Sora has parents or some sort of caretaker who we never see. In Kingdom Hearts Recoded, it’s revealed that Sora’s caretaker was the First Key, an immortal keyblade master and the first person to open the door to Kingdom Hearts. His intention was to keep Sora away from the whole keyblade conflict, but he failed. (Fake) -After escaping from the Tron world and reuniting with Yuffie and Aerith, Sora discovers that Tron can be tickled by typing on the real world keyboard. After Sora tickles him for a bit, Tron restores the memories of all the Final Fantasy characters. (Real) -Vanitas takes his helmet off to reveal he looks like an evil version of Sora. He then says this is due to Sora succumbing to Darkness in the upcoming second keyblade war, the essence of which has pierced the boundaries of time. (Fake, though Vanitas does look like evil Sora) -While exploring the Lilo & Stitch world, the film’s antagonist cloned Donald Duck and had him infiltrate the main trio. After being defeated, he simply vanished because he had no real soul to create a heartless or Nobody. (Fake) -The villainous Organization 13 gets it’s name from its 13 members. However, there was originally a 14th member, actually an artificial life form, who sacrifices themself to help Sora regain his memories, though this wiped all memory of the 14th member from existence. (Real) -When someone joins organization 13, the letters in their name are scrambled with an X added in to form a new name, with the X allowing series antagonist Xehanort to seemingly gain some sort of power over them. This is revealed to be why he is able to track Sora: Sora’s shirt has a giant X on it. (Real)

I have a seemingly simple question for you this week: MinnMax's mantra is "Games, friends, and getting better." What does the "games" and "friends" part mean to you? Is this playing Mario Party with my best friend from high school? Could playing a board game with a recent acquaintance count? What about playing dice in an alley with a stranger who could potentially become a friend? Thoughts?

Im not sure if anyone noticed, but all of Facebook was down yesterday. A lot of people, including myself, kinda hoped it stayed down. If you could choose a social media service, or online games service, to go down forever, which one would it be and why? Cheers, AnAttackCorgi Fun side note, Facebook lost around $2,670 per second the service was out of commish, which comes out to $58million over the 6 hours if my math is right. Even more mind boggling? That’s only 0.05% of The Zuck’s $122.7 billion net worth.

Hey Minnmax, It seems like all my favorite video game podcasts and journalists are linked in someway or another. Now with the announcement of Trivia Tower All Stars seemingly adding to this belief, how small would you say the games media world is, and how connected is it all?

OozingNeon

Just watched the Nickelodeon All-Stars New Show + episode on YouTube, and Sarah was saying that she wished that Invader Zim would come back. Did you guys know there was an Invader Zim movie (Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus) that came out on Netflix in 2019? As a lifelong Invader Zim fan myself, it RULES.

There was also a Rocko's Modern Life special (Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling) that came out the same year that is excellent.

Hey MinnMax Crew, What are video game features you really want, but know you're either in the minority or your reasoning isn't talked about much? For me, I want more cross play because I want to play more games with my husband. We're obviously in the same household and not about to get two Playstations or two gaming PCs. My husband isn't the biggest gamer but after playing It Takes Two and A Way Out earlier this year, we want to play more campaign-driven games together but those type of games often only have online multiplayer BUT don't support cross play. Looking at you Far Cry 6… Another one is cloud gaming support on desktop. A lot of people say cloud gaming works best at home with good internet but then what’s the point, who would use it? WELL, as a Mac user, I would. I was excited to play 12 Minutes earlier this year but I couldn’t stand the console controls since the game was clearly designed with mouse controls in mind. I thought I had a brilliant idea to load Xbox’s Cloud Gaming site on my MacBook only to discover that it could not register any peripherals in the game (mouse, keyboard, etc). I know the game was also available on Steam, but since I’m already paying for GamePass I wanted to play it there.

Where Ridley!? First of all, well done Kyle on your prediction that Ridley wasn’t in Metroid Dread. But what did you all think of his omission? Ridley is to Samus what Ganon is to Link and his absence honestly surprised me. Especially since this was touted as the endpoint of the mainline Metroid game series. Hell, I wouldn’t have minded if they forcibly shoved him in somehow as a clone of a painting of a cyborg version of himself. I’m not sure there was even a reference to him in there. Would’ve loved one last showdown. Your thoughts?
