Hey Crossfaders, Think of your favorite bar and the type of clientele there. What song, that you genuinely love, gets the jukebox turned off and you kicked out by the patrons the fastest? My song of the week is "Movies" by Weyes Blood https://open.spotify.com/track/6f4itfvWzS59Qu7JWorhxn?si=1vtHXcRbQdqmyGUwbLtU8A

What is a song from a band that just ruins all other songs from that band because it’s so good. One that stands out is House of the Rising Sun by the Animals. Their other songs are good but if I’m listening I’d rather just listen to that song a second time

Hey Crossfade, I don't have a question. I just wanted to say thanks for the awesome content. Keep on keeping on.

A hearty good evening to Dr Helgeson, Prof Dafnis and Baron Hanson, We know you guys love music - but what about album art? What are some of your favorite album covers/album art of all time? Whether its iconic ones you adore or some underground album's artwork that deserve some more attention? And side question - were you the type of person with mixtapes/burnt CDs to just write the name of the album or are you in the camp of drawing/doodling something on it? I'm firmly Team Doodle. Thanks, love the show - Forever keping the 24 Hour Party Zone going - Bob Buel Also, my song of the week is 'Malandrino' from my favorite self-proclaimed Ukranian gypsy punk band, Gogol Bordello. https://open.spotify.com/track/6Nd1YkkeRq5JXXvNMbyVuJ?si=9XPYJGYfSYaT6P4Y8anvCQ&utm_source=copy-link

Hi! Girl Talk is one of my favorites of all time, love the choice. He's stated before that the name was chosen because it's such a pop culture thing, which matches very well with the collage aspects of the music. However, when I would praise his music, people always get confused with the name 'Girl Talk'. It seems that there are certain names reserved to certain genres, for example with soft indie rock outfit 'Destroyer', not to be confused with grindcore metal band 'Pig Destroyer'. What other artists/bands do you find to have very unfortunate names?

Mike Lynch

Welcome back Mr. Hanson! Question: it's up to you to save the world. The only way to save it is by tattooing your favorite song lyric to your forehead. What is that heroic lyric? *Song this week* Sleaford Mods ft. Billy Nomates- Mork & Mindy

There's loads of older music that I have only been exposed to through Girl Talk, so whenever there are some classic tunes playing in the background somewhere, I tend to start rapping lyrics from the Girl Talk song, which to the people around me seem completely unrelated. Have you guys experienced your mind filling in these 'phantom' elements of songs, because you know some version or remix better than the original? Here's some recent Girl Talk production work I really love: https://open.spotify.com/track/2WEeMbJq6VrKSCgNebiQs5?si=xdsyQN1USFenU6WOz35QeA

Hey there Matt and brand new, never before heard of guest Ben. My question for you is: If you were in the MLB, what would you want your walk-up music to be? My answer also happens to be my suggested song for this week, Eminence Front by The Who https://youtu.be/BfrUQA2tb6M That song is an absolute banger, it just exudes a bravado that I would want to impart to my opponents. How about you?

Because it would have been her 50th birthday on April 16th, I will share Como La Flor by Selena. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOBuyzBIRwk Though I also have to point out the wonderful collaboration she did with David Byrne: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fPvjyYWUC8

I've been listening to Banner Saga soundtrack lately as recommended by Austin Wintory himself on Crossfade. It is truly a moody and excellent orchestral soundtrack. This got me thinking... where are all the great new orchestral music outside of soundtracks? Is this genre just not that popular, or is it that soundtracks overshadow anything else within the genre? Song: No Tree Grows to the Sky by Austin Wintory

Hey had a conversation with my bud recently who had to clarify that the band Neck Deep was Pop Punk and not screamo. At what point do music genres start being superfluous at explaining what the music is

https://youtu.be/ZebfDTMNSz8 Thinking about who I am and who I want to be a lot lately. This song by one of my favorite bands with an extremely thoughtful front man (Patrick Flynn) has allowed me that opportunity. Question(s) for this week is, what do you want your legacy to be? What do you want people to remember you for? I just want to be remembered for trying to be better tomorrow than I was yesterday.
