Hello cohorts and welcome Janet! We’re all excited to have you I’m sure! I heard we were talking indie games, and a big conversation point right now is PlayStation’s Play At Home initiative, releasing 8(?) indie games some normal and some vr for free including titles like Subnautica, Abzu, and Thumper. However, I’ve heard some complaints that PlayStation isn’t doing enough for their fan base when compared to Microsoft with their Games with Gold and everything they’ve been putting out on Gamepass after the Bethesda Acquisition. My question to you, Are people justified in being mad at PlayStation for giving away indies instead of AAA titles, or are these complaints just those of whiney baby gamers who need to play more games outside of their normal sphere. Thanks!!

Hey Ben and the CLCs and welcome Janet to the Computer Loving Club! (Insert upbeat anime opening here) I recently discovered the "Haunted PS1 Demo disc". It's a collection of indie horror game demos packaged in an explorable 3D, PS1-style environment. Nearly all the games are made in a very, "cronchy" low-polygon graphics style that is surprisingly effective at being incredibly scary despite the very primitive visuals. Is there something inherently "spooky" about the low-poly, PS1/N64 aesthetic, or are these developers just very good at horror?

Hello Minners and Maxxers and welcome Janet! Are you more of a Minner or Maxxer? My main question is a few weeks ago Little Nightmares 2 was proclaimed a Kyle game. Do the rest of you have a genre/sub genre/ type of game that you can point to confidently and call a Ben, Janet, JeffM and Suriel game?

It's an odd question but do you all think that the DS is the classic system of choice for a new generation of gamers? I have noticed that ds games have skyrocketed in price lately, it kind of reminds me of when my generation who grew up with snes got old enough to have jobs and started to seek out snes games they couldn't afford as kids. Or they are feeling nostalgic for games they no longer own. I have seen Wii, Ps3 and Xbox 360 games stay roughly the same price but for whatever reason the DS market if rapidly climbing. For evidence Harvest Moon DS Cute is averaging 45 dollars, all pokemon ds games are going for over 100 dollars for authentic copies, etrian Odyssey series is going for 60 plus to name a few. And there is now a huge market of fake reprint ds games, much like how it is for snes games. What are your thoughts I'd love to hear it?

Hello! Suriel mentioned last week that he thinks he bought MGS 4 before he even had a PS3. Have any of you ever done that with another game? Personally I did the same thing with Oblivion. Morrowind was my favorite game, and had kind of changed what I thought was possible in gaming, so I was super excited for Oblivion, but could not afford a 360 at launch. However, I still bought the collector’s edition of the game and the strategy guide to help tide me over. Thanks for all you do.

Howdy! A few days ago my sister and I were having a conversation about our favorite childhood cereals. I was vehement that Golden Grahams were the greatest cereal of our childhood. She argued that that couldn’t be possible because Golden Grahams doesn’t even have a mascot. That sparked a discussion about who would win in a Battle Royale between all of the cereal mascots. My money is Count Chocula! He’s part vampire! Who do you guys think would in a Battle Royale between cereal mascots? Best, Sean M.

Hey everyone! I watched Speed after hearing it mentioned on the show a while ago, and there's a scene where Keanu is chasing the bus to warn them about the bomb. They don't know he's a cop yet, so after cracking the glass on the door and stealing a car to chase the bus, a passenger says, "man sure has a hard-on for this bus." This has to be the most absurd line I've heard in such a popular movie, so my question is - what is the weirdest/most absurd movie quote you remember? Thanks for everything, Aaron

Hello, Minnmax. And welcome, Janet! Janet, on a previous episode of this show, you stated that you were going to make a conscious effort to stay on top of all the new releases this year in order to become an expert in your field. How’s that coming along? I ask because I am wondering (assuming you’ve been at least mildly successful) if you have any tips on trying to fit more games into your gaming diet. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Anyway, keep on shifting gears and kicking rears!

Hey Ben and crew, Real quick, please have a regularly occurring show with Jeff Cork and Joe Juba! Not necessarily together or with a set schedule, and I absolutely acknowledge I have no idea if you even get along anymore (or ever did). Just bummed thinking I won’t hear them much more, if at all, on my weekly podcasts. Ok, real issue and question now. My brother is in the Air Force. After being stationed in Oklahoma for over 20 years, he decided to move to Hawaii last week! Naturally, my first question after learning this, besides “Where did you just say you moved?”, was if my son (13) and I would come visit for extended periods whenever the chance arose. He said yes and within 24 hours I had secured one way tickets to HI. One way because HI is freaking expensive, and this was not an expense I was planning. Will buy return tickets later this month. I am a single dad on a budget. My only way to afford this is because of free housing/amenities my brother is providing combined with the fact I am lucky enough to have a job that I can do remotely. Working during the day means saving money for a variety of reasons but it also has one major drawback. My 13 year old son will be stuck in a house each day with no friends and none of his “stuff”. The Question: Do I ship, or bring with me, a console to help occupy him? We have a switch and that is coming, but it’s not either of our “go-to” system. We are lucky enough to currently have both last gen and next gen consoles so I was thinking of bringing an older one. Am I crazy? This kid is going to have nothing to do all day on weekdays for over a month.

Ben, Why is the Xbox Series X Disc Drive whisper quiet while the PS5 sounds like a weedwhacker?

Hello Ben and the Cohorts. Great show so far! I'd love to hear a specific nostalgic memory that you have from playing games as a kid. I used to love playing Cruisin' USA on N64 with my dad. The first time I learned the code to turn on the police car sirens I left them on for the whole race acting like I didn't know what was going on. My dad was confused and to the child version of me this was the height of comedy. Welcome aboard Janet!

Yessss! I was hoping that Janet would join the crew.
