https://open.spotify.com/track/13bGloZLzJlD6eMGdiVAtP?si=waqn_SqoT9u9I4iH5I9CJw&utm_source=copy-link my song suggestion is Two Gallants- Las Cruces Jail If you could only choose one, would you rather only listen to music that is completely honest and autobiographical, or music that is in character/ a work of fiction? Thanks! Thom from Seattle

I heard this song in the song in the Small Axe series film Lovers Rock, and can't get enough of it. https://youtu.be/9jp7nuVwKqY what songs that were featured in a movie or TV series have you found and became obsessed with?

What album cover art represents the start of your love of music? I'll always remember listening to U2's ACHTUNG BABY while looking at the strange and varied art on it's cover.

The theme to The Detectorists is my stand-out fave. Its a beautiful song and Johnny Flynn added a verse to it each season to represent the new storyline.

Were any of you antagonized for your music tastes when you were young? I grew up on a steady diet of classic rock and kids in school were not kind to me for it (though looking back on it, I was probably so dismissive of modern music that it annoyed a lot of people). I ran into some of those people again as an adult and they said they didn't realize how ahead of the curb because now as adults they either listen to that same music or at least appreciate and understand its importance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGMOB2K78iM my recommendation for this episode, Peter, Paul & Mary's version of Pete Seeger's If I Had a Hammer. Always been a favorite of mine.

What are three deep-cuts that you think more people should give a listen to?

Hello crossfade! Love the show! it's one of my favorite podcasts. Have you ever made an impulse musical instrument/equipment buy that you eventually regretted? Btw that last episode was amazing.

I really love on Facination street, and Homesick, how smith gradually adds and layers of multiple guitar tracks. Gradually building up each song to its ultimate apex and then having all the guitar tracks play with each other forming something so fun to listen to. I always thought these songs really felt more like compositions someone would meticulously work on, rather than some sort of thing someone would come up with in a jam. Homesick is also really sad and i like that too.

*Starts song* "yeah, this is pretty good." Goodnight, my Andalucia Don't buy all the lies that they feed you And though you're headed slowly To some place I can't respect I'll keep you in my collection of regret. "New classic!!!"

Hey CrossFade, The Cure are known for their gothic look, I guess you could say Robert Smith is/was the poster boy for that style. At the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame.. The Cure were still dressed the same as themselves in their prime. My question is... What do you think of bands and artists that dress the same as they did in their younger years? Do you think Robert Smith dresses like that casually, for example going down the street to get some bread and milk or its a costume to some extent?

When I saw this song on the crossfade community playlist I was like "wait, was that me? No, I recommended another song this week" so I had to look and see who it was. World/Inferno are just about my favorite band. legendary.

Get out of here, that's great! I first saw them live around twenty years ago and have been a huge fan since. When did u first hear of them?

Anonymous

Oh man, seeing them live in 2001 must have been a treat. I only got into them around 2010 or so. My friend was a huge fan and introduced me to them. Ended up seeing them live between 50 and 100 times over the course of 5 years before I moved out of the United States. My band opened for them a few times too and they were always our best shows.

Mike Lynch

It was in a small club in NJ and they were all packed on a tiny stage. I remember Jack saying "we may make $100 tonight but none of that matters because we're all here together with you."

We were called Glowing-Eyed Friends. We don't play anymore because I live in Ukraine and everyone else is back in New York, but we recorded one EP back in 2015 https://glowing-eyedfriends.bandcamp.com/releases

I would have definitely loved to see them back then, but wasn't able to, being 7 years old and all that.

Mike Lynch

Hey I really dug your band. I can see why you opened for them. Would you mind if I put the band camp link up on the Crossfade Discord?
