Thanks Hanson, been looking forward to this!

Y’all are the best group of podcasters - this is art!

Can you guys please tone it down on the constant unnecessary use of the word "like" ? Ben Leo and Jeff aren't that bad and aren't the reason I find it annoying. Kyle is bad but Suriel and Anna are the worst, they toss it around wily nily. Its insane

Anonymous

not trying to be a jerk but seriously suriel used it 20 times in a minute while talking about kentucky route zero. yes i actually counted at one point

Very glad to hear this play out. It was a really great conversation! I will say, as someone who didn't really have a dog in this race ( I only played Animal Crossing on this list), I was really afraid it was going to go to Hades as a compromise when the arguments for the FFVII Remake and Kentucky Route Zero were stronger. Glad to see the more logical game take the top spot!

It's very difficult to take verbal tics out of your own speech. It's used for pacing/moderating speech flow and gathering thoughts as much as anything. I can't speak for Suriel or Ana but I'm guessing it's not on purpose.

It's not THAT difficult to make an effort to reduce the word. There are plenty of methodss taught in speaking on how to reduce verbal tics. I don't really see the point of talking about how difficult it is as if to say "oh well it's very difficult so there's no point in trying to improve"

Anonymous

I'm sure they don't do it on purpose. It is hard to listen to though.

Anonymous

whether or not they do it deliberately is besides the point, I don't know why it keeps being brought up. It's like somebody saying " that person didn't deliberately make typos/grammatical errors etc in their article" or "that guy on guitar doesn't suck on purpose". I'm bringing it to their attention so they can understand that some find it unenjoyable to listen, and if they choose to, they can work to improve

Anonymous

speaking of grammatical errors, I know I have some in my posts. The edit feature isn't working for me for some reason though

Really enjoyed the discussion, especially of Kentucky Route Zero. If folks are interested in more background on the game, I interviewed the developer Jake Elliott: https://www.gamerswithglasses.com/interviews/kentucky-route-zerocarboard-computer-interview

Listened to this following my completion of the game last night. Found it randomly on YouTube. Great chat.

This discussion was really great you guys! It's so cool, that you all have different individual number ones. That's makes this so much more interesting to listen too, than if you all had the same one!
