Hey there MinimumMaximus, I've been playing through Ghost of Tsushima and revisiting Halo 2 recently and noticed a really fun parallel both games have. The main player character in both games are referred to as a "demon" and have an aura of intensity when the npcs talk about them or reference their actions. What are your favorite nicknames in videogames that just ooze badass?

Hi Leo and the Vaders What obscure film franchise would you like to see adapted into a videogame?

Hey Ben and the crew! I was thinking about Mario games and what technically does and doesn't count as a Mario game, and I think I came up with a good system. A Mario game must meet at least two of the following requirements: 1) "Mario" must be in the title, 2) Mario must be playable, and 3) Mario must be the main character. So for example, Mario Power Tennis would be a Mario game, but Luigi's Mansion is not. Using this logic, I'm hoping you can answer the age old question: is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island a Mario game?

Hi everybody, Ghost of Tsushima question, how often do you accidentally swipe down on the touchpad and start bowing at the most inopportune moment. I swear it happens to me about 5 times a play session. Is it just me? Maybe I move the right analog stick with the bottom part of my thumb instead of the top. In a more general sense, has a game ever made you closely analyze and/or change your controller technique?

How are you and what's your favorite colour?

Howdy CLCs. Not counting podcasts, you ever put something on in the background to enhance the vibe or atmosphere of another medium you're consuming? I' ve been doing this a lot this year. I've had Samurai Champloo on while running through Ghost of Tsushima's filler content and I've been listening to the Nier: Automata soundtrack while reading the Automata short story collection. Before that, I put Midnight in Paris*** on in the background when I was in the homestretch of The Sun Also Rises, I read the last short story of Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies in an Indian restaurant. You folks doing stuff like this or is that information overload? ***Woody Allen's a creep

Hey cohort! Do any of you have any "meta" game competitions going between friends? Like do you intentionally try to beat each other's scores on anything or something? For example, my brother and i have been competing with who can get the most platinum trophies (i am currently down by 2 😭). Thanks, and welcome aboard Leo! (And loving your personal channel so far!)

Hello MinnMax (2 Enns), With the 9th Generation bearing down on us, when are we going to get MinnMax (2 Enns) predictions? How does a digital game ownership shift how we view/play/develop games? Will we see more DRM hidden as “Games As A Service” (I.e. Destiny or The Division)? I’m curious to hear what the Panel predicts going into the 9th Generation. Also, welcome Leo Vader! -LaRay M. Hey, Ben and the Jammin's, I really enjoyed your discussion of this generation's new IPs. I hadn't realized just how many there were! However, I found it odd that there wasn't much discussion about one of this generation's largest new IPs, No Man's Sky. While it may not seem like a game that needs a sequel, and thus not a new franchise IP, it has been regularly adding new content since 2016. In that time it's added base-building, fleet management, crossplay multiplayer, a 30-hour story campaign, full VR support, weekly multiplayer events, procedural dungeons, and thousands of other gameplay features and enhancements. While sales numbers haven't been released publicly, it's concurrent players on Steam, its cyclical placement at the top of best-sellers lists, and various re-releases on different platforms demonstrates its selling power. It was estimated to have sold over two million units when it launched in 2016. Sean Murray said that the numbers surrounding the release of NEXT were comparable to that of a AAA release. This is backed by information that shows their studio's cash increased by over 70 million dollars between launch and 2018 when NEXT released (1). Additionally, in the month since it released on Xbox Game Pass it also gained over a million new players through that service alone. In a recent blog post Sean states "It’s been a real surprise too to see No Man’s Sky sitting above the likes of Red Dead as the most played game on GamePass." (3, 4) As a final point, I do think it is an IP that will continue onto the next generation of consoles, as Hello Games still seems interested in adding even more to the game. Also, a next-gen version or sequel could generate things the PS4 couldn't dream of. What do you think? Is No Man's Sky one of this generation's best new IPs or am I just biased? Thanks! Chris from Texas P.S. If you're still skeptical because of how it launched, check out Internet Historian's video The Engoodening of No Man's Sky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5BJVO3PDeQ It's genuinely funny, yet honest, take on the whole debacle that really adds context to the whole thing. Hello minnmax crew! First time writing in, long time listener. To follow up yesterday conversation about Battleborn, I'll tell you my amazing experience with the game. Started with beta until launch and immediately fell in loved with the characters and how it was played. Overtime on Xbox, some community people made up a xbox battleborn league for about 5 seasons long. Me and friends was in every season and made incredible friends along the way also! If it wasnt for battleborn community on xbox I wouldn't met over 100 friends on friends list to date. As far battleborn game itself, gearbox didnt treat it well after launch with alot of microtransactions with DLC character and operations that was over price as well cosmetics. My question is what game you made the most friends on? Thanks for everything you do and much love. P.s. Gigantic was my favorite new IP of this generation. Rest in peace ❤
