Our deepest thanks to everybody that's playing Chrono Trigger with us for The Deepest Dive, we hope you enjoyed the first discussion. Next week we're tackling the next chunk of the game up until you reach the Kingdom of Zeal, stop when you see the floating islands and the town called Enhasa. We're posting the discussion on Wednesday the 29th, but will make the post for questions on Monday, the 27th. So even if you haven't finished the full section of the game by then, please submit your specific thoughts on feedback on what you've played so far to join the conversation. This post is just a reminder... not the post for actual comments yet.

You all know the drill, we're looking for specifics. Write in with your favorite moment, line, enemy, least favorite area, etc. Thanks, everybody!

Chrono Trigger's Opening - The Deepest Dive

MinnMax's Ben Hanson, Kyle Hilliard, Jeff Marchiafava, and Suriel Vazquez break down the first four hours or so of Squaresoft's beloved JRPG Chrono Trigger along with the MinnMax Patreon community. We talk about everything in the game up until you reach the End of Time, with no spoilers for anything beyond. From the classic trial sequence, Robo's surprising emotional introduction, and Mitsuda's amazing music, we cover the game in exhausting detail for your enjoyment! For the next discussion airing on 1/29, please stop playing once you've entered the Kingdom of Zeal (floating islands, the first town is Enhasa). Crayter

Hey folks, Just wanted to rain some love on the Magus' castle section as it's one of my favorites in the game. First I absolutely love that his henchmen are Ozzie, Slash, and Flea. I didnt realize who they were playing through the game as a kid since I didnt get into metal until Junior high, but I love it now as I play through as a metal loving adult. I'm also pretty sure that the scene where you walk into Magus' dark chamber and the flames kick on one by one to light the path and reveal Magus floating with his arms outstretched and Cape flowing is almost certainly what kicked off my early goth phase, it just looked and felt so badass, particularly once his theme music starts playing. And his weapon is a scythe! It was a dark gothy nerds evil dream to be like Magus.
