This is the podcast version of this week's New Show Plus winner. As you probably know, every week we let Backstage Pass supporters vote to choose which new show we create or continue. This week they chose a show called "Reading" that had MinnMax's Kelsey Lewin read from the new book she wrote on the history of Animal Crossing. The book is published by Boss Fight Books, there are links below if you want to check it out. Kelsey and Ben also takes questions from the community on the history of Nintendo's Animal Crossing and how the game was perceived by the press at the time like Game Informer magazine.

Just bought my copy today!

Anthony Elliott

Just ordered a copy myself, eager to read it. I ran into same issue Kelsey described when I was trying to pitch it to my friends during our regular gaming nights in the early 2000's. I got it when it just came out since I'm a sucker for odd-ball Nintendo games. Became a big fan like a lot of other folks, so wanted my friends to check it out. They did not get the appeal from my descriptions, so I had to just bring my GC over one night and just set up Animal Crossing to show them how it played. They quickly got sucked in and firing up AC became a regular staple of our gaming nights. First they bough their own memory cards to create their own towns, then a couple ended up finally buying their own GC's so they could develop their towns on their own time.
