While working on some textures for the new Genesis 8 tights, I recorded the session.

When I get to the part where I'm setting up masks, you may get confused on sometimes it paints and other times it erases.  That's because I'm hitting the X key to invert (black to white, or white to black).  You can see the white/black ball change on the right side of the screen in the toolbar section.

I didn't finish the last one, and likely won't, but it was mostly to show how it can be fixed.

Some of these designs will be released with the tights.  But the last section I run through a variety of techniques I've picked up in my years working with this that people might fine useful, particularly for logos, working with texture/fill layers, and the like.

I almost had a stroke getting daVinci Resolve to export the video instead of just the last third of it.

There is also no audio and it's just under 5 minutes long.

They key to making life easy is to try and make the left and right sides of the UV map line up at the edge and with the vertex on the farside in the vertical direction. That's why I can just plop down a seamless texture that lines up and not really have to worry. And in the cases where the textures don't line up, you can use a paint layer set to PASSTHROUGH and use the clone stamp and blur tools. Or paint a stripe or design, as I sometimes do.
