So, when I initially began my patreon page I only held a single request lottery. But when I kept getting no responses from consecutive winners after a couple months, I expanded to two winners a month in order to increase the chances that at least one would respond to the prize.

Here's the thing though; the last three months when I announced the winners of regular and premium lotteries, I never heard any response from any of the winners still.

I like offering these requests to you guys. There's a more direct interaction between me and my supporters, plus many times I've received requests that cause me to push my boundaries on things that I may have never tried to achieve before in a render and help me better myself. Not to mention that it just means more content from me to you. However, with so many patrons failing to respond each month with their requests, I'm beginning to question if it's still worthwhile to continue doing these lotteries each month.

Let me know what you think, and if you vote that I should stop, feel free to leave a comment with suggestions for an alternative reward if you have an idea.

Thanks everyone.

Instead of lotteries, try setting up monthly polls for themes you feel like rendering. This will help you focus on what your patreon supporters like to see from you. Create a poll with some themes you haven't done before. I'm sure you have a bucket list of renderings you want to accomplish.

When you want the interaction with your supporters, then you could change the process. Until one date each month your supporters can send in ideas and from these you choose a winner. Maybe you reached the "wrong" people without interest in interaction and there maybe a lot who just think, when will i win?

I read the lottery results each month, and if I ever won I would definitely respond. That said, if you want interactions with your supporters. Maybe try different styles of approaches to get us to interact. One month a poll for something you want to try, another have people submit general ideas, another do a lottery, etc, etc. Mixing it up has a better chance of getting responses and maybe stretching your boundaries in different ways.

Separate from the lotteries, I also offer a suggestion box in rewards for all my patrons that's always open. It's as easy as sending me a message or comment with your ideas. Even with that I never really get any input. Perhaps I do something like you say and make a periodic post for patrons to submit their suggestions (similar to when other artists make announcements for open commissions). It could help keep everyone aware of that option.

This has been a good idea for other patreons I support. Sometimes can end up with rather unexpected or interesting responses.

I also check the results every month, always hoping to see my name come up.

That's heart breaking to hear. I always checked your monthly message with great anticipation. But Alas! my name was never drawn. I look forward to see my name a winner one day. And I will definitely respond.
