Hey all,

So yesterday social media was abuzz with Patreon Support reporting multiple problems with payments. At one point Patreon had apparently declined ALL payments and then it was resolved but some payment sources were still affected. Last update from Patreon stated that they had identified the root cause and have only now disabled Payoneer payments and planned to have it resolved today by 10AM Pacific Time.

Basically, when you're payment gets declined it kicks you off the page of the person you're following so you won't have access to content here or any other creators you may be following. Normally, even if your payment is declined, Patreon will keep trying to rebill throughout the month until the payment goes through.

Apparently, that's not working so it could have possibly kicked you off and is not trying to rebill.

While Patreon hasn't given Creators any guidance, here's some stuff that's worked in the past.

1. Look at your subscriptions and see what was/wasn't billed and make sure it's right. Normally, it's nice to have all this autobill stuff setup so you don't have to worry about it, but please take a second to check it out this month. I don't want people getting screwed over.

2. I haven't heard of any double payments but I always worry about that so if something borks and you get charged more than you should, please contact me. I can see the charges on my end and I'll work with you.

3. If your donation hasn't gone through you can also try and call your bank and let them know it's authorized. Patreon has been pretty good about payment stuff overall through the years, but I know some users have had some banking issues that were driving all of us crazy to try and figure it out. Some banks are pretty stubborn.

While I'm not happy with the way Twitter is operating right now, Patreon does have a support account over there that notifies the public of issues and resolutions. Here's a source link to Patreon with more information if you're interested or want to verify things (you don't need a Twitter account to access this).

As always, if you're affected, we'll get through it and thanks for the patience. Regardless, money stuff is stressful so if you have questions or problems, you can always reach out here via private message or through the discord . If you want instant access, honestly, Discord is faster because it goes straight to my phone.

Luv ya and thank you as always,

-A

My bank tells me that everything went through as normal, but I haven't received the usual confirmation emails from Patreon. Always hard to be certain if I'm just going by withdrawals, as the exchange rate fluctuates so much, but it's in the expected ballpark for all my Patreonage.

I didn’t get the usual email either this time but all my pages are working correctly. As long as you still have access you should be good. I’m on the road today otherwise I was gonna check you on my end to make ya feel better . All the management stuff is disabled on the app and the browser for phone stuff and I didn’t bring my laptop with me. So I may have to check late tonight or tomorrow when I get home

I figure, if I can see the posts on the feed that I expect to see, then everything's good. :)

Honestly that’s kinda how I look at it too. I was just gonna double check for ya

Yep. My bank is hyper protective. Even after all this time they stopped payment for 3 weeks thinking it was a fraud - mostly because the payment source server for Patreon shows up as in the UK. It finally went through last Friday after I called 4 times to bitch about it. But hey, I'm not mad about having a bank that's this vigilant.

ugh. i'm really sorry you had all these problems. I get frustrated with things like that. while it's nice their vigilant, there can be that line where it's just too much of a pain in the ass. i'm glad you got it working though and i appreciate your support even more knowing all the damn time you had to spend getting it here.
