Yo peeps, just hittin' you up with another update. Even in the short time since the last one things have changed a little. Well, I mean I still mean to do all those videos I want to do, though other projects have been thrown into the ring, and I don't know how that will affect the schedule.
As you saw, I did a video ranking the 3D Zeldas. I'd been sitting on the primary footage for that for a while and finally took the time to get the game footage and edit the whole thing together. So that took some time that I could have been working through the list I gave you. But hey, videos is videos, right?
Right now I'm really digging into this Hammer Bros. video. I'm putting more effort into making it flashy and funny than I have with any other video yet, so this is going to be a big deal for me at least. I worked on it for many hours today and I've barely scratched the surface, so here's hoping it's even possible to get it done either this week or early next week.
The reason it will be hard to finish though is that I'm heading to Lockstin's place on Friday to shoot the next Gnoggin video. It's going to take a lot of time away from my own stuff, but it's totally worth it, and I'm looking forward to seeing the latest video when it's done.
Other than all that, the new projects I've thrown into the mix are two videos about "first person exploration games". One of them is about the genre and about how we need to stop calling them "walking simulators". This will be another fairly lofty one, with an illustrated/animated sequence. This and the Hammer Bros. video both reflect the higher level of quality that I'm going to be shooting for from now on. I want to make my videos look really good, and I also want to start doing more analytical stuff. I think people are pretty into that, and I'm pretty opinionated, so it's what I'm hitting hard right now. Then the second video about first person exploration games that I'm going to do is something I'm toying with--"Five Minutes, Five Reviews," where I do short reviews for five games of one type. My plans haven't extended beyond this genre yet, but who knows.
So as you can see I've got a lot on my plate. Not sure what will end up on the channel by the end of the month. One video per week is what I'd like to do, even if I get several done faster than that and have to sit on them for a while. Which reminds me, I've got two more amiibo reviews shot--they just need editing. That's the sort of thing I'll probably sit on and release slowly to fill out the schedule. I don't want to do too many too close to each other, but they're something I can do with relative ease and speed.
Wow, I didn't expect to have so much to say! I should have saved some for next week! XD Well I'll catch up with you then. Maybe I'll do just a liiiittle more editing on this Hammer Bros. video before bed...
