[Please Read!] Koikatsu Sunshine - Plans for the Future (Patreon)

By now you've likely heard of Illusion's new game coming out in a few months, Koikatsu Sunshine, a sort of sequel/improvement to Koikatsu.

Typically, Illusion doesn't really go too hard on their sequels, with only minor adjustments here and there, but typically with slightly better graphics, lighting, or otherwise. Considering how popular Koikatsu has been for them, I hope they do more justice than, say, HS2 was over HS.

Still, this begs the question - what will become of this project - our Moemon project?

Well, first off, I plan to take a bit of a break during the hot California summer, which will likely be either July or August, the hottest months of the year for my area. August also happens to be when the new game comes out. Fortunately, after doing some research, it seems most of our stuff will be compatible -

I fully expect ScrewThisNoise to start making BetterRepacks of the new Koikatsu Sunshine game, but all of these things will take time - compiling all the mods, making sure they work, and of course, making sure none of the cards break.

If everything goes 100% well, I'll fully transition over to the new game. Some of the new features teased look promising, and as usual, the new clothing options will be huge, because as much as our community is great at making some new clothing, it's easier to have Illusion produce the 3D "model" of the clothing and just customize that with overlays.

A peak at some of the new options is really getting me excited.

Nothing is set in stone however so we'll see where this all takes us. I may also have to eventually alter the Tier prices and rewards, because I'm struggling between weighing Effort vs Time vs Real life. When I started this project, it was purely as a hobby to use as a creative outlet, but since then the capabilities of this game - through modding - have increased 10-fold, and while I still only do this out of fun, I feel an obligation to produce a certain amount of content per week/month, which really gets in the way of real life obligations. In all likelihood, I may just reintroduce the former $3 Tier and $10 Tier, for those who wish to support at a higher amount, while also adjusting rewards accordingly.

I'll figure all of that out after a much needed break either next month or the month after, so for now, there's nothing to announce or change.
