Riolu and Lucario are here!

I've spent an absolutely ridiculous amount of time on these two. Actually, I timed it. 14 hours. That's not including the time it took to pose, screenshot, edit, and write up this post, which is about another half an hour.

Why did it take so long? Well, partially I wanted to spend a lot of time on them to begin with, because Lucario is such an iconic Pokemon from this generation (and all Generations, really). Riolu took about 5 hours to make, mostly because she went through a second phase / overhaul where I redesigned her a bit, changing her hair, ears, gloves, and other parts of her. She's actually kind of a rework, funny enough.

Lucario took a lot longer, because her hair was ridiculously difficult getting the color mask to work. Remember, there are no UV maps for custom hair, so the only way I can make a custom color mask is by overlaying the Detail Mask and hand painting it, saving, loading it in, and just.. seeing if it works.

Anyways, they both have some differences in their alternate outfits. Riolu, for example, has a gold neck band, which her original Pokemon design has. Lucario has spikey bits on her wrists and from her chest, like her original design as well.

Going forward, you may see Lucario pop up here and there in future posts. I love her too much. She's going to be one of our new mascots, officially. In fact I'm changing my profile picture to her cute ass face.
