Mega Gardevoir (Patreon)

...I never really liked the actual Mega Gardevoir design we got. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate that, whether they intended it or not, they threw us horny coomer weebs a bone by putting the waifu Pokemon in a wedding dress, especially when the entertainment industry, in the US at least, not much I can say for anywhere that I don't live, would go on to seemingly become more conscious that we're very prevalent in fandom culture, and want so little to do with us that character designs meant to be sexy are usually among the first things phased out when an old ip gets a new entry. Like, Ms. Keane from The Powerpuff Girls, the Dark Queen from Battletoads, and Lola Bunny, just off the top of my head, aren't even allowed to be drawn with boobs anymore, which is actually a pretty bad look (for Ms. Keane in particular because she was already as desexualized as it gets. In the case of the Dark Queen and Lola, putting them in more conservative outfits really should have sufficed) because that implies that the mere existence of boobs is an inherently sexual trait, and since most women have boobs, and most women with boobs didn't get a choice in the matter, that's just what their bodies naturally look like, that implies that women in general are inherently sexual beings. So yeah, way to go Hollywood dumbasses, you just called your mothers and sisters sluts. You should be ashamed.

But yeah, I really appreciate having been thrown a bone, again even if it probably wasn't intentional, but I just always felt like there was such a huge missed opportunity not playing around with the fact that her Japanese name is "Sirknight" and her English name is a portmanteau of the French words for "guard duty." And it would even work so much better with the then-new Fairy typing, because Fairy is strong to Dragon-Types, and what character archtype is more notorious for slaying dragons than knights? It was right there. It was staring us in the face the entire time. And that's not to say that I would wish away the design we actually got, ideally Gardevoir could have just gotten two Mega forms like Charizard and Mewtwo got, that way we could all choose for ourselves which one we prefer, and produce some banger-ass fanart of the two of them  K I S S I N G
