Dear friends,

Should we give the characters personal names? Up to this point, we've been calling them things like "Executioner," "Red-haired Nun," "Witch" and so on; essentially, we've been addressing them by their professional titles. Would you like us to give the characters real names, or would it be confusing to hear characters addressed by their personal names instead of their professions during quests?

IT would be nice if they started with professional titles, and gave their names after big story moments. it would add a lot of weight to the side quests.

Giving them their own names would add a lot more personality and charm to the characters also I think it would make them feel more like a real person compared to witch or tavern keep maybe at the beginning you call them the names of their profession then once you do enough main quests they’ll tell you their names

Similar to Timbletop I think it be nice to uncover their names in game. Some people will start with their name during intruduction while others may take a while before they share or you uncover their name. Some npcs might even give false names. In my eyes the name should be revealed when the MC would get their name. Whenever it be the npc sharing their own name or the mc uncovering it through other means.

And another comment to agree with the others. I like the realism of giving NPC's titles. Like sure, you might never know the name of the barkeep or drunkard, but eventually, someone will share their name and then that adds mkre depth to it. It would be confusing to just start out with random names, but if you find out their name in the story and then start calling them that, it would make sense and add that extra touch of realism.

I’ll play the opposing council on this thread. I have enough trouble remembering my kids names and what I ate for breakfast. I like the fact that this game refers to them in a matter of fact title.

Since it looks like the masses want the npc's to have names. Might I request you add a section in the journal, maybe in chronological order in which the player meets the npc or alphabetical order by job title, that lists each npc? Format example: Batender -> Allen, Red-Haired Nun -> Moira

I don’t believe everyone should have a personal name. Namely characters like the Executioner or (at least) masked/helmeted guards we never see the face of. I mean the job of Executioner was always meant to be anonymous (hence the mask) so the executioners and their families would not be persecuted by the families of those they executed. It may have been different for those who presided over the executions of nobles, but for those of commoners they did hold other jobs besides lopping off peoples heads. However, those that the hero will have regular contact with (and even intimate contact with) like the nuns they should have names.

Cool game but I hate fake options

Make option to name them as we like.
