A short(ish) extra video this time for that one person who enjoys watching my tasteless lunchtime convenience food reviews.

This time it’s a compilation featuring three different noodle pots.

'You won’t believe what’s at number three. Top chefs hate this simple meal'.

Oh and a quick addendum, it transpires that a Pro version of the Curry cup does indeed exist.

All being well I’m somewhere on the sea at the moment - all being not well, I’m somewhere under the sea at the moment.

Take care.

BAD/OK/GOOD Noodles (PATREON VIDEO)

A tasteless noodle review round-up

I've never been one to eat any of these except the most basic Chicken Cup Noodles. But since I've been watching your videos, I now am excited to spend time in this area of the grocery store. Would it be insane if we tried sending you some that seemed unique?

When I moved to Japan I stuck with the basic three (?) flavors of Nissin for ages before venturing out... I had no idea "plain" was rare! They are cheap and ubiquitous, send me an address and I will slow boat a box to you. Pay no heed to the expiration date, Japan demands that on all food products, even those that don't warrant it at all (Belgian beer, wine... cup noodles).

Do you think you’d be able to find me some Pro Curry or any really odd varieties? Given how much some places charge for postage, I’ve got to assume that it’s not cheap, however slow the option chosen. However I’d be more than happy to pay all the costs if you did find some.

Boat shipping is ridiculously cheap, 1070yen for up to 2kgs and 90cm combined dimensions, but that changed to 1kg limit (dimensions the same) during pandemic. Takes a couple months, but seems made for just this task. I am looking at our grocery catalog right now - and there are some pretty outrageous new varieties. One is focused on that "mystery meat" piled high, a dead ringer for the box you got at that chip shop. Another is squid slices, but I would have swore it was octopus sashimi. In terms of the Pro(tein) line, they have plain, seafood and Chili Tomato in our catalog, and I found the Pro Curry through Yodobashi Camera (go figure). Yodobashi actually seems to have a great selection, take a look and let me know what you might want from here (all of this ships free to my local address): https://www.yodobashi.com/p2/?ginput=%E3%82%AB%E3%83%83%E3%83%97%E3%83%8C%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89%E3%83%AB&word=%E3%82%AB%E3%83%83%E3%83%97%E3%83%8C%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89%E3%83%AB

Brilliant. Give me a few days to finish the new video - I’ll then take a good look though that page and pick out a few unusual ones and send you a private message (if that’s ok with you).
