Years ago I made a video about a specific video cut-away technique which made videos almost unwatchable for me. Today I saw the pinnacle of this technique used in this promo for a Cambridge Audio HiFi thingamajig https://youtu.be/jQiS-pAoPF8

I wanted to share it with you to see if I’m the only one who is affected by it in this way.

Whilst I have have much respect for Cambridge Audio and their equipment… I use one of their amps and in the past they’ve even got in touch to send me some free replacement knobs for it, I just couldn’t get to the end of this video due to the reoccurring  use of this confusing editing technique. I’m sure everyone meant well and I wish them all the best of luck with their product, whatever it does.

Just a lighthearted post - feel free to ignore.

If you’re wondering what the ‘crap shot’ is - here’s the video I made (warning - may contain mediocre puppetry). https://youtu.be/JGKM9oi0mkA

I came across a #crapshot in the wilds of YouTube today. I couldn't get to the end of it. https://youtu.be/ELD5uBFmN-8

The crap shot is an amateur (at best) move to provoke some sort of visual interest because the viewer is either comatose or dead I guess? I stopped about 10 secs in to the Cambridge advert and the multiple crapshots forced me to wonder if the presenter is some sort of creepy prisoner/criminal type under house arrest and there's a need to cut to his probation officer. Bizzarro, I want to get off this ride now.

I think at the beginning it said he was a HiFi reviewer or something. It would have been a tuff gig even for a TV regular.
