This was a fun little video to make and a good example of how something going wrong can make things better.

Hopefully it provides a pleasant diversion for a few minutes and I also hope that you have a great weekend.

Update - I can see that from the comments that the original upload of this video was coming across as being more negative than I intended, so I’ve snipped three seconds, added a caption and re-uploaded it. Now it has more positivity - something we all need in our lives.

LASER FX (1988) 'From the Sound Stages of Hollywood to your home'

For thirty years I’ve wondered what this ‘80s laser music visualiser looked like in action. Now I finally get to find out - and also discover the surprising secrets of its ingenious cost-cutting internals. The music used in this video was Bok Choi by Slynk & Heart Break by Vibe Tracks - both from the YouTube audio library. https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/ ---------------SUBSCRIBE------------------ http://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan?sub_confirmation=1 -------------Merchandise----------------- https://teespring.com/stores/techmoan-merch -------------SUPPORT--------------- This channel can be supported through Patreon https://www.patreon.com/techmoan *******Patrons usually have early access to videos******* ----------Outro Music----------- Over Time - Vibe Tracks https://youtu.be/VSSswVZSgJw ------Outro Sound Effect------ ThatSFXGuy - https://youtu.be/5M3-ZV5-QDM

I recall lusting after this as a boy but never had one, thanks for showing me what I missed! I think it's pretty cool but the price is...mmmmm.... ambitious?

Gordo

Very entertaining!! I think most Sharper Image products carried a very high profit margin. I do like the effect however, especially the colours.. I wonder if the gaps in the lissajou figure were caused by the colour wheel or camera artefacts.. I also I wonder if YT's copyright algorithm could identify music based on the buzzing sounds ;-)
