This turned out to be a very enjoyable and rewarding video to make.

It started with a desire to take some photos with 35mm film for a change.

To add to the interest level I decided to hunt out an unusual point and shoot camera (or two) with which to take these photos.

I then thought it would be fun for me to shoot in black and white, which was something I'd never done before.

Finally I discovered that I'd been using a formulation of film which had recently been discontinued - so I was glad I started on this one when I did.

Have a great weekend.

Another interesting and comprehensive video, Mat. Glad to see in the notes you liked Tomorrow's World, too. Shameless name drop: I've worked with Michael Rodd many times over the years since TW.

He's one of the people who really inspired me growing up. I liked his approach and demeanour.

I think your photos are really, really good. You are definitely a good photographer. Personally, I like black and white film photography, and I do my own processing and enlarging. I find the process very relaxing and enjoyable, and black and white can be very artistically satisfying. Ilford I think is doing very well, black and white film photography is now considered more art than before. There are also manufacturers in Germany and the Balkans who still make the old film and paper formulations, they can be bought online.
