I get a lot of requests asking me to do more reviews of kitchen gadgets. This is great, as often the requests I get are asking me to do less - less talking, less modern reviews, less retro reviews....and I'd love to do more kitchen equipment videos. Therefore for the last few years every month I've been checking everywhere I know,  trying to find something as silly as the Rolli egg cooker to present in a video. Unfortunately though it seems like the small appliance kitchen market has moved away from such frivolity.

Perhaps the customers that used to buy these 'time saving' devices have come to realise that most of them are really just a waste of time, or maybe everything that could be invented for the kitchen already has been...but regardless if they don't make them then I can't review them.

So in the spirit of pure desperation when I saw the 'Bacon Express' hit the market I bought one just to make a video about it. So here it is....and I suggest you don't throw that frying pan away just yet...

I've never heard "streaky bacon" before, but I like it! As a Canadian, I often find myself with unsolicited challenges from Americans about "Canadian Bacon," which is what they call Back Bacon (it's like having a Canadian passport means I must always be ready to defend products associated with Canada). I hope you haven't had too many of them with this video! :)

I sympathise, it seems like a number of people from the US are always surprised by any differences in other countries or cultures. I’m surprised when I travel if I see anything that’s the same as it is at home. The differences are the reason for travelling.

Same here. Always love to go to supermarkets etc. when travelling since it's there where you see the obvious differences in every day life. Some is exactly the same everywhere, some is slightly different, some is surprisingly different.

I'd never thought of back bacon before. Being from the middle of the US, there is pretty much only "bacon" (streaky), and Canadian bacon; which does tend to be considered ham around here. Mind you... I love "Canadian" bacon. So, the question... Is Canada's back bacon the same as what the UK calls back bacon, or are they still different?

I love your episodes as they are. But if you allow me from humility a suggestion, perhaps it would be a good idea for the next review of a camera to take advantage of and make it while traveling. It doesn't have to be an exotic place, but the mall may become too boring and although the device itself is important, it would make the episode more educational and entertaining. Thank you very much.

In defense of the mall shots: It's like a test card, you can directly compare different cameras by how they show those little details. So some additional shots from a trip are always a nice idea, don't lose the "technical" things there.

The mall shots were supposed to be s test that could be compared between different cameras, however I haven’t been to Manchester in a couple of years so that shot will no longer be included in any future camera reviews.

I think you should have flipped them earlier
