Person of Interest Season 2 Episode 21 Zero Day

Zero Day- I love this episode's overall storyline, as the Machine has come to be in danger and therefore creates a false number so that Reese and Finch can fight to save it before the virus can destroy it. Again... This episode has a number of twists and turns, none of which I saw coming. I also love that because the Machine is in peril, that it can't send Finch and Reese an actual number for some time, forcing Reese to have to listen in on the police scanner in hope of being at the crime scene just as the crime takes place, in hope of trying to do all he can to prevent more deaths and stop the killers. And then... Root like always is amazing! I love that she finally reveals herself as a threat to the man behind Northern Lights, as she then goes on to torture him for information that would hopefully lead her to the Machine. And unfortunately, she then kidnaps Finch once more, while Reese is off with Shaw trying to stop all that's going on. I also love the big reveal as Root reveals to Finch that she knows all about Zero Day and that the Machine is in danger, as well as what's coming when at midnight... whoever is standing by the correct payphone once the Machine reboots itself, will then receive complete access to it for the next twenty-four hours. By the end, Reese and Shaw are in a race to get to the library first to save Finch, and to stop Root as well as Decima... the true organization behind Northern Lights and Control from receiving all access to the Machine. Brilliant! And now... Both Root, as well as Reese have gotten the call from the Machine. Thanks to Finch re-directing its call down to the phone closest to Reese too so that he can get it and hopefully stop what's to come for them! Absolutely incredible!! I love it!! :) Also... Carter is now in trouble thanks to Detective Terney setting her up in a "homicide", when it was genuinely a good shoot. I suspect that Terney chooses to frame Carter instead of outright killing her, out of worry that him killing her by shooting her in the back would lead the good cops to discover that it was actually him upon investigating the crime scene. Because Carter was facing the suspect when she killed him. It wouldn't make sense for her to have been shot in the back. And Carter is a good, decorated cop that other police and detectives admire. Except for the dirty cops that is. So, Terney knows that the investigation into her death had he shot her, would be very thorough. Or... Maybe Terney has a bit more of a conscience than we know. He did kill Szymansky no problem, but he may like Carter to some small degree. I doubt it, but you never know. And lastly... I absolutely love the backstory between Finch and Nathan once again. I absolutely love that Nathan tried so hard to try to help the numbers from irrelevant list because it really tore at him to just be willing to let them die, knowing that only he has the power to try to help them. Sadly, he's not nearly as skilled a fighter as Reese is, so he states that he actually failed to save more than those he was able to save, and this made him sad. But I love that Nathan cared. I absolutely understand Nathan's point of view, while I also do understand Finch's as well. Because they would be in a lot of trouble if the right people discovered what Nathan was doing. What they had both done upon building the Machine in the first place. And now... Nathan's number has come up too. Yikes! Not good! Overall... This is a fantastic episode!! Thank you again for another phenomenal episode reaction, Jay! Until the season two finale... Sincerely, Heidi
