Okay before I watch I'm just gonna make some comments about this episode versus what happened in the actual campaign because I know you are always curious about this stuff. This episode is one of the single biggest divergences from the main campaign. The things that remain the same are: they meet Kamaljiori, undergo some sort of trial, get Mythcarver, find out the locations of a few more vestiges, and while Grog does stab Pike, it is under vastly different circumstances. So this means that many things in this episode were changed to better fit the pacing of a tv show. In the campaign, the trial was a puzzle, not a challenge to hurt Kam. There is no Umbrassyl here. Kam doesn't die. Scanlan doesn't bond with Kam like he does here and doesn't sing a song to him. Mythcarver actually doesn't grant visions in the campaign. They go to the fey realm for that vestige about 10 episodes after this, and when they do, they don't get split up. And while there are probably others, these are the biggest ones. I still loved this episode, just thought you'd be interested to know all of this.

Yeah these 3 batches of episodes are by far the most different from what happened in the actual campaign but not in a bad way at all I really really loved what they did here. To answer your other question in the campaign Sam mostly sang parodies of like the top 100 pop songs, all the songs in the show are 100% original

To answer questions about why only some of them were able to make it, if you go back and listen to Keyleth you’ll hear her panicking cause she casting the spell too soon and she needs more time, I’m pretty sure since she was rushed and had to complete the spell before she was ready it was imperfect and ejected grog, Pike and Scanlan

Yeah the changes in no way detracted from the story at all and I was completely caught off guard by a lot of this and I’ve watched C1 like 5-6 times. It was really incredible

Ripply was watching them through an orb of scrying at the end of episode 4. She has been magically spying on them for a while now.

Like the other says a lot of this episode is different from the campaign. But I feel the changes are the best. Also Umbrasyl( pronounce Um-br-a-seal) still has the vestige MythCarver, I think what you see is Scanlan lute. Also thanks for the shout out 🙂

You’re putting your emphasis on the wrong syllable for Umbrasyl, it’s just umbra-sil. First part is together in bit, umbra-sil and Zhara z-ar-ah

To everyone commenting, it doesn't matter even a little bit if his emphasis on the pronunciation of the made up dragon is different. We all know what he means, lol. But like Salena said in another comment, I think Scanlon is holding his lute

the stuff that happenes before the fayrealm will happen later from the titles of the episodes. they just changed the order in where they go for a better story telling

This was so different from the campaign but it was so fun to watch. Throwing in a random music video was funny. I know you noticed later that Mythcarver was taken by Umbrassyl after the fight with Kamaljiori. With this scenario being so different from the campaign, I can't wait to see where they go. lol
