Matsya Nyaya- Thank you so much for another great reaction for a fantastic episode of Person of Interest, Jay! I really enjoy this episode a lot. I love both the main storyline in the present day and how the security officer winds up being both the victim and perpetrator, as well as the backstory revealing how the CIA turned on Reese and his partner Kara by turning them against one another. It's brilliant! Also... If you go back and watch the episodes, titled... Super and Wolf and Cub, the woman we see talking to Reese, Kara, and Agent Snow in the flashback of this episode, just before Snow gives Reese the orders to kill Kara, is the same woman talking to Finch's nephew (his best friend's son) about his father's mysterious past and the about the Machine in these previous episodes, which ties Reese's and Finch's pasts together. This woman's name is Alicia Corwin. In those episodes, Alicia is looking for the Machine and its creator. In this episode, we see she's also involved with the division in the CIA for which Reese worked for in his past. I absolutely love the flashbacks showing us what really happened between Reese and Kara. I had a good feeling that Reese wasn't going to kill her because he's a good man, in spite of what he believes about himself. However, I wasn't expecting Kara to suddenly turn around and shoot him upon receiving the same orders John gets saying that their partner has become compromised. Absolutely brilliant! I love all of the looks into Reese's past! :) And then... In the end, we learn that Kara has somehow survived the bombing, as she kills Snow's partner and shoots him, but leaves Snow alive so she can interrogate him for whatever her reasons for doing so are. It's getting exciting! :) Matsya Nyaya is interpreted as "law of the fish"... a Hindu theory in which they believe in a fundamental law of nature saying that small fish become prey to the bigger fish. This is why Reese states, "Law of the fish" to the perpetrator just before he's killed by his girlfriend. I like this saying, because in most cases when it comes to criminals and their criminal activity, it's pretty much true all the time. Smaller criminals are always taken out by the bigger criminals, and there is always a bigger criminal who comes along to take others out. Just like we see here within this episode. I love the twists and turns in this episode, and I am quite happy that the security officer and his girlfriend are both killed, given that Tommy cruelly killed his partner from the truck, and then shot Reese in his back, nearly killing him too. The other truck driver was a good and innocent man, and it is very sad that he dies. It's great that Tommy wound up being both victim and perpetrator. And lastly... I love how Fusco saves Reese in the end when he kills one of the heads of HR to protect him, fully proving to Reese at last that Fusco indeed has his back. I still believe that Reese sees him as more of a friend than he's been willing to let on, but Reese is also very reserved in who he puts his trust in. So, trusting Lionel fully isn't easy for him. Especially given Fusco's past with previously having been a dirty cop in HR. But I do believe Reese trusts him fully now. It's wonderful! :) Thank you so much, Jay!! I can't wait for your reaction for the next episode!! It's one of my absolute favorite episodes not just here in season one, but throughout the entire show!!!! So, until next time, dear friend... Sincerely, Heidi
