So I've said previously that Equestria Girls: Friendship Games, and Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree are two movies that you have to get through to get to the far superior "Forgotten Friendship" and "Sunset's Backstage Pass." There are more movies and specials, but they're not as fun as those two. That said, if you're this against Equestria Girls now, you're probably not going to have as much fun with Forgotten Friendship or Backstage Pass as we do. I'd personally rather they be skipped entirely than watch you suffer through something you're not enjoying. As for this movie itself, Timber Spruce is like my least favorite character from Equestria Girls. He feels more like a tacky add-on romance for Twilight than Flash Sentry did. Heck, I even grew to like Flash somewhat, but Timber is just cringe. Take all that nonsense out, and this movie gets quite a bit better. I do like the idea of this world's Twilight having to try to cope with the aftermath of turning evil just like Sunset. There are a few good songs in this movie as well. EDIT: So an add-on now that I've seen your afterthoughts: Really the point of EQG is to watch Sunset Shimmer's transformation. After Rainbow Rocks, EQG was Sunset's show. EQG DID split the fandom quite a bit. Some people hate them. I think it really boils down to whether or not people can deal with the fact that there are humans. I got over it in the 2nd movie (though I do strongly feel the ponies are superior). If you can't get past that, then you can never truly appreciate these movies. Personally, I felt "Meh" about the first one, but the second one was much, much better. The third one was good enough, and then this one came out which would have been good without Timber (imo). There are some callbacks to the main show scattered throughout EQG, and they are considered canon. But hey, if you're not digging it, the rest can safely be skipped. You'll be missing out on some easter eggs and that's about it. Now, one thing that absolutely can't be skipped is the MLP Movie from 2017. That one needs to be watched after Season 7, and it DIRECTLY affects the show moving forward. And, of course, we appreciate the honesty. At least, I do. Some people just can't ever get past the human element in EQG, and those people will never truly enjoy it. If you fall into that category, then it makes no sense to force you to watch them.

Ok so this movie. It’s ok it’s not the best cleary not we got rainbow rocks and friendship games. The villain was uh not good her motivations were crap. I hated timber honestly cuz I actually liked flash and it feels like a replacementment. I hate that in shows the new love interest cuz the other ones not working. But flash deserves sunset that’s good for him. The song sounded like the first equestria girls song. But I found my self bopping and cubing with eqg1 song this one not so much. Filthy rich is not a bad guy he’s just not he just wants to be payed like any person and your not doing. And then her decideing to cover it in vines. Pissed me off so much plus that song isn’t as good as people was say it is. It mad me mad cuz of how easy it was to raise money for the camp. I haven’t seen your reaction to it yet but ima agree with theslorg you gotta get past this movie or skip it all together it really wouldn’t matter. Forgetten friendship and sunsets back stage pass are both amazing. I know for a fact you’ll enjoy sunsets backstage pass. If I was to rank the movies it would go (1) friendship games, (2) backstage pass, (3) rainbow rocks, (4) forgotten friendship, (the first equestria girls, (5) legend of everfree. It kept getting better untill everfree. Then droped a little and just cam straight back up.

Honestly I kinda agree with you, I've never been a big fan of EQG movies which is ironic because Sunset is my second favorite main character of the franchise, my favorite being Starlight. I wish Sunset would return to Equestria to have access to her great character in the main show as well.

I am totally with u as how they put their hands etc. I didn't warm up to EQ either, I still like them but not much as ponies. It feels weird to see them as humans.

I just watched and once again this is the least enjoyable of the bunch. The music is ok the best is the intro song and I love sunset as usual. I hate timber he’s to cringy. And the magic they got was pretty cool I was digging it. But when I say the last two movies are much better it’s the truth

On your ending comments I just wanna say whoever told you if you don’t like it the fans will be mad. That’s not true if you don’t like it’s cool with me and I hope everyone else. When I Trailer for the first eqg came out all of them were so upset like the show was over. But people actually enjoyed. It’s not for everyone but it not horrible

It's fine if you don't like the movie, it's definitely different from the tv show and to me the first two movies were alot better. Also it kinda funny listening to you rant xd. But at least your honest about if you like it or not.

Every Brony I knew hated the fact that the human Filthy Rich was made a villain. He may have been born into wealth and was a bit of a chancer, but Filthy Rich was actually a decent bloke with a good heart.

Also, it’s honestly okay if you pause to have a rant. But I feel that you’re missing context and/or jokes when you exposit over dialogue

Finally I can watch this I’m so happy. I have to say looking at the comments in this first part, (no offense also this is just my personal option) I really don’t agree with a lot of what people say. I actually really like this movie I think it great, I personally find the songs in this movie pretty great. I also don’t think you should skip parts of this series because you can miss amazing things like the girls getting their powers. I also have to say I personal like Timber Spruce, he may be cringy but I like him and Sci-Twi’s relationship/chemistry that they have with each other, I just also like his character. But I do have to say there is one thing I don’t like about this movie and that what the did to Filthy Rich, in the show he’s a nice guy, but for some reason he was mean here and kinda like a villain and I don’t like that. Other wise I think this movie is great. ( again no offense to anyone’s comments those are just my own personal options about this movie)

I think they made equestria girls originally to compete with monster high so they could make dolls. I like both my little pony and equestria girls.
