I think this episode got mixed reviews when it came out, but I love it. Rarity being a goofball, and Applejack giving it right back to her, is just plain fun. I do find it interesting in just how much Applejack stumbled over her words when trying to explain her feelings to Trenderhoof. In her own words: "Look, you're a fine pony, but... uh... well... I'm a—" before she gets cut off by Rarity. You're a what, Applejack? Interesting. EDIT - I assume it also gives the lesson of not needing to change who you are just to try to please someone else a much deeper meaning for a lot of people.

Rarity's conflict is that she isn't being honest... with her true self. She would throw it away for some guy, which almost never ends up well in real life. Applejack is the perfect pony to set her straight again. I loved this episode for the hilarious accents, and because Applejack. Honesty is so underappreciated these days.

Best parts about this ep were Spike's little "Are you serious?" look to the audience, and Tabitha just going nuts with that accent. When she is having a blast doing her work you can tell, it is always glorious!
