Yeah, the live action takes a lot of liberty with these fights and glosses over a lot of details. For instance, the guilds weren't nearly so inept in the novel, they're actually pretty good schemers in general, they wouldn't be guild leaders of such huge guilds otherwise. That battle was also a lot more involved. As I recall, Lord Grim and Steamed Bun whittled down his life while the guilds dithered over who would charge first, then ran away to hide when the Boss had gotten to Red Blood (10% Health) and would soon become Enraged/much deadlier. The guilds knew this as well of course, they have tons of experience too but I forget why they charged, I think it was to steal the Boss regardless, even though the risk was great in its Enraged state. In any case, once they tried and failed to kill the Boss, their fruitless damage/attacks on the Boss still took off a lot of the Boss's Health, enough for Lord Grim to mop up afterwards and claim it since he and Steamed Bun (they formed a team) had dealt the most damage. The guild leaders also didn't call him Master/God in the book yet, when they've no idea who he is. However, some things are still true here and may help you better understand or at least believe why Ye Xiu's identity is still hidden: - Any decent pro player would seem like a God to normal players. This is a fact in the books and also here in the show. The mechanical skill, decision-making, overall experience etc honed by not only tons of high-level PvP but also intense regular practice within their clubs, not playing for the sake of playing, puts them way above pretty much all normal players except a few talents waiting to be picked.

- However, pro players hardly play in-game with normal players on the regular servers, it's generally frowned upon as "bullying" the general normal-player population. The pro teams are instead provided with their own separate space/programs by the game company specially tailored for training regimens, where they can practice undisturbed. Only occasionally do pros deign to enter the game using their main account and it's usually a huge deal since players instantly recognize them, can even tell when they're online if they're "friends" in-game. So this is why the guilds didn't suspect that Lord Grim is not only a pro player but the Battle God himself. They can see he's pretty skilled, probably the best they've seen, but then so would anyone intending to become a pro, just like the new guy you saw, Steamed Bun Invasion. Pros hardly enter the game and if they did, it would hardly be to go to the regular servers to run low-level dungeons or personally trade materials with normal players. The guild leaders (who are the best only among normal players) don't have the skill to judge the finer points of just how much of an expert Ye Xiu is. That's something only other pros can do, just like any other line of work really, where only someone of similar skill can tell just how good another expert is. It's also why the guild leaders wouldn't do something like try to track down his IP (which isn't a trivial thing at all, when you're not on the same local network as the person, if you even know their IP). Why would they bother? If they want to recruit him into their clubs, they can just message him in-game about it, the way everything else is done and if he agrees to join, they move on from there. Otherwise, what would be the point of finding some random guy IRL (who could be anywhere in the country), no matter how good he is? Now, there's other reasons why his anonymity *during his pro years* may not be very credible. Like, people can be pretty determined and with fans like his, someone would've almost definitely taken a picture eventually in our world, unless he took far more precautions than we see in the show/book. So that's where I suspend belief 😁️ which isn't too much for me since those pro years are past and the way he supposedly kept himself hidden is plausible enough.
