Time for your weekly wall of text! Good eye picking up that each Crusader is a different race of pony. It's hard to pick up on in season one, but at this stage Ponyville is unique in that all the pony races live together. We've seen Cloudsdale only has pegasus ponies (for obvious reasons), and Canterlot is almost exclusively filled with unicorns. It was hinted that Scootaloo should do the dancing because she needs good coordination to do her scooter tricks. I don't know if she'd get a cutie mark in dancing. Maybe scootering, or tricks, or something of that nature. I think you're right with Sweetie Belle - that pony can sing (though honestly most of them can... but still). Apple Bloom just seems to be an all-rounder. She fixed up the clubhouse, painted it, knew to wash the brushes before reusing them, and understood the use of various tools. What sort of cutie mark might that lead to? It's easy to miss, but the school bullies, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, participated in the talent show and didn't win anything. Apple Bloom's old friend Twist (the pony with a lisp) was there as well.

Background Pony of the Week: Berry Punch The "cherry pony" you remarked on. She appears a number of times doing something with beverages. This has led to a running joke in the fandom that she's the town alcoholic/bartender.

There is a difference between a hobby and what their special talent is. They can be good at things other than their special talent, but that talent will be what they spend their whole life doing. They get their cutie mark when they realize what they want to spend the rest of their life doing.
