Hey, thanks for the review. Obviously, it was a bit of filler episode, but you are right, the pace is steady. There were lots of good, bad and ugly in this episode. The bad to me was that I didn’t really like how they wrote the scene where Sarah was lying on the table dying. It just seemed unnecessary and a bit overdramatic. The acting was fine, but the writing there was a little over the top for me. Sarah dying would be like if they killed off Darryl from The Walking Dead. No way that is happening. The ugly goes to Rafe and Ward. Rafe is obviously a nut job. The dad knows he’s that way and it’s like he ignores it because he believes he has bigger fish to fry but in reality, Rafe should be a top priority. If your kid kills a cop, shoots their sibling and then says he is hearing voices in his head, then maybe, just maybe, it’s time to take a step back and evaluate all of that. Don’t know who is worst: Rafe for being psychotic or the dad for allowing it to go on. I agree that it seems like at some point, Rafe is going to be sick of the dad not being loyal to him (like he believes he’s loyal to him) and will want to kill him. Sounds on par for Rafe. Some good things that made me smile - The Cheerwine sign, which I love. I had Cheerwine over the weekend. - Cleo being a rockstar. She turned out to be a great character addition - Sarah and John B getting married. I mean, they are young but since it’s not really legal, it’s ok. - Doc Marsh appearance – the guy from Twins, Total Recall and was Gordie’s father in Stand by Me. I want to call out the police on the island. You notice how they were okay with shooting Cleo but previously never shot at the Americans. That seems typical from what I understand. They do distinguish how they handle non-natives when it comes to illegal violations of the law. Other interesting things to note: Jay knowing what a princess cut diamond is. Who knew? Pope getting the letter from C. Limbrey. Just interesting that this person took an interest in John B and Pope and their association with The Royal Merchant. As Kie said, that’s hella sus. I am sure that connection will be explained, and I am glad they are circling back to the mystery around the ship and the gold. It will also be interesting to see if Shoop does something with the gun that the kids gave him. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers…or Cheers…wine!
