Thanks for watching and reacting to the last episode of Outer Banks - Season 1. Most notable thing to mention in this episode (and what gave me a bit of a chuckle) was your very last comment before you stopped the video at the end. You said the boat captain seems like a good dude. As you know, historically, every time you say that someone is a good person, that person never is (minus Pope’s dad). So, now I am looking forward to seeing how Season 2 is going to go as I am curious to see if your character predictions will play out as they have in the past or if your luck has changed and you are calling them correctly now…LOL!! I like how this episode tied a lot of things together and set up everything for the next season. I think they needed to really address the John B/Ward C dynamic. John B is still my least favorite character, but it was good to see him stand for something at the end. I am actually starting to not mind him so much, but he is going to have to stay with Sarah, because I think Sarah makes him more likeable and balances him out. She is, to me, the star of the show – love her! I am glad that Kiara is starting to move away from her obsession with John B – that she denies. It does seem though, moving on to Pope borders along the lines of destructive behavior. And it’s probably just something she knows she can get away with easily, since I am sure she has known for a long time that Pope had feelings for her. She really needs to find someone outside of their circle. As for Pope, at this point, he needs to do some soul searching. He is still smart and a good balance for the group, but he is just out of control. It looked like he would have killed Rafe if his friends weren’t there to make him back off - yes, probably deserved, but still. His dad is 100% my favorite parent on the show. I want to see more of Pope’s dad. Heck, I wish I had a dad like that. He’s awesome. JJ’s dad on the other hand is probably the slimiest dude of them all. I want to say Ward is worst, but the problem is Ward is smarter and has money. JJ’s dad is just a loser. Last shout out for Season 1, last episode goes to Rafe. The drugs seem bad enough, but it looks like he has some mental issues that are starting to manifest and that just makes him bat shit crazy. One thing you brought up earlier in your reaction was how John B didn’t look 16. I never thought about it, but after you mentioned it, I had to look up his age. Chase Stoke the guy who plays John B was born in 1992 and so when Outer Banks first came out in 2020 –he was 28. Yeah, he looks all of 28 – not 16. All the other main characters seem to be all around the same age, being in their early 20s when the show first came out. Finally, just want to add that, Outer Banks has three seasons on Netflix as of now, and I believe they announced that Season 4 has wrapped and will be out later this year. I suspect the show will continue to have the kids doing dumb things as they try and search for gold and treasure, but hey, it’s holding my interest with the mystery and suspense and I am enjoying taking the ride with you and anyone else who is watching.
