Hello everyone! This post is a little different. As you guys know, I have a current goal of $1000 in monthly Patreon revenue which, when reached, will allow me to hire a background artist to add custom made backgrounds to the game instead of the filtered public domain images currently in the game. I personally don't think I'll be reaching that goal anytime soon (definitely not this year at the very least), however I wanted to add some more achievable goals to my Patreon. 

Thing is, I don't know what goals to add. As much as I survey and engage with my audience, I still struggle to find out what you guys actually want from BYH. So here's the deal: I want you guys to suggest ideas on what you want me to add to BYH. This will be something that would added when a certain amount monthly revenue has been reached. Just post in the comments on what should be a goal in my Patreon. I might add multiple goals if I see enough ideas I like, so say as many as you'd like. I'm looking forward to what you guys have to suggest.

Here's some ideas- music, more CGs, hire programmer so you can do more writing. The only thing I'm hoping not included are things like 'side stories'. Sometimes a creator will create personal stories for the higher tier patreons. It was discouraging because it meant they were giving attention away from the project that patreons were paying to see finished.

First of all, I'm not the writer of this project. I came up with the characters and story basics but Nemo's the one who's writing the script and coming up with most of the details. Second, hiring a programmer sounds like the best idea. I can code but it's not very fun for me 😅. If I got a programmer, I would probably spend that time making more CGs and art assets for BYH. I'm actually already commissioning music tracks from a composer. I don't think having that as a stretch goal would be a good idea because then I'd have to hire another composer in order to get a full soundtrack ready soon and I don't want to do that since I really like my current composer. Lastly, I wouldn't make side stories Patreon goals. If I make side stories, they would be just for fun. This project is already as ambitious as it is, I don't know think I'd be able to have a bunch of side stories for the game.

Id suggest less routes to keep story writing and quality up. When vns start to add more than three routes I just dread that the game is going to become a 7-year project that never gets finished. No need to intertwine every character together especially not for a first project. No hate at all just a few routes with a story that knows what it wants is always best. You have a compelling story that I hope gets completed.

I think I'll keep the number of routes to five. And we'll probably keep branching paths within a route to a minimum (Basically no more than what's already in or hinted at in the game). As for when the VN will be finished, don't be too concerned about when the VN will be finished. It's a big VN, so it's going to take some time to get completed. The important thing is that we make good progress on developing it every month (except for breaks of course).
