She Wears Pink but Flies a Blue Lion (Patreon)

Hey yo! What up?

I thought I would take a music break but decided fuck it, I'm going right to work on Turbo Volcano 4 which has the working title "She Wears Pink but Flies a Blue Lion". It may be a shorter EP with a few disco funk future laser disco songs. I'm still tinkering.

I attached a first draft clip of one of the first songs in production called (working title) From Frisco with Lasers. Placeholder drums, first-pass mix with some morning coffee. The bass is what's important. Feel that bass. Feel that future laser disco. 

Turbo Volcano: Future Spa will be out on May 7 and features a really diverse collection of songs. I'm thrilled with it, but totally fell in love with the bass sound I created for Gold Digging Space Muffin (which you may have heard in the recent podcast.) It kinda set the direction for the next several tracks. 

It brought me back to the bar scenes in Buck Rogers. Disco, future, lasers, funk, talking robots, drinks with fog, purple spandex. Yes. All that. That's what I want. And that's what you want. We need this in our lives.

I start on songs these days by creating a bass line, then adding placeholder drums and working out pads and chords. Then tweaking, building, growing, FX-ing, and eventually finishing with bigger drums. Let's follow this one through production!
