Oh the Horrible Places We'll Go (Patreon)
Content
I must admit that I've been enjoying the creation of The Horrible Octopus. The character is a lot of fun to draw and I love working with a 19th century style that is finding its way into all of my artwork. The rough paper, blotted ink, and old-fashioned lines work well on the octopus and Edit-Station 1 (of course)
The comics have been running on Webtoons, (perhaps that is why you're here.) It has been well received but I want to get away from the single punchline panels and get the characters into more situations with more dialog to express their personality.
The Horrible Octopus #34 is the first comic to feature multiple panels which scroll down on Webtoons (the print version will have a similar full-page layout)
This gives me a chance to work in some of my other favorites like Edit-Station 1 and maybe even Heyzoos (or a cousin of Heyzoos...) and expand Billingsley the Dolphin - so basically the strip is absorbing elements from my old Seatropica concept and a concept piece I had in my head called Bathysphere of Time which involved 19th century engravings and a time traveling bathysphere.
Hopefully you've seen the comics on Webtoons HERE
I'll be engineering a print version for a bit later this year - in color, which should be fun to capture the old fashioned paper look and some upcoming color panels when they start to time travel.... oh the horrible places we'll go.
