Pretty simple stuff, but building a "library" of simple "tricks" is imo the best thing you can do in Houdini - time and time again I go back to the same simple tricks when I solve problems. Also, I wonder how many different ways I've come up with for creating spirals in Houdini, hehe... :D

Yeah that's exactly right what i am thinking after 1 yr of H seems prety much the most sensible way to keep a solid ground under your feet, a good library of setups. But what i enjoy also is finding out more simpler ways of doing stuff that just works, from ppl with more experience: for example use the Dop network node to also export back to sops the geo out instead of using another dop import node... simpler faster, leaner

I think many miss that POPs are just DOP networks and that you can use them as you do POPs, using the node input as source for geometry and that you can output the simmed geo directly. Now, I still do prefer the object level DOPs for most stuff just because you usually have a couple of different objects going into a sim, so accessing them all on object level is pretty nice. With particles, it's more logical running that as a subnet inside an object, at least for most stuff. :)
