Patron 2021 Update (Patreon)

It's a new year (thank fuck) and that means new content! I want to layout my plans for the year and, of course, get feedback/input from everyone! So, let's start:

1. Bodega Cat/Future Comics.
So, as many will notice, Bodega Cat is very close to wrapping up after 3 years! I know its been kind of a tumultuous project but I'm happy that people have been keeping up with it for so long and saw our favorite throuple through to the end! That being said, Bodega Cat will be my last long-form comic project (the other one being Relations). 

The reason for this? To put it plainly, long stories are a LOT of work. I tend to get bored quickly and having one comic go on for over 2 years isn't something I can see myself doing again. What does this mean for the $2 tier content? My next project (Flexible Business Hours) and all future comics will be shorts, around 10 pages each (think Do Better). Some might be small stories set in the universes of Relations or Bodega Cat, some can be entirely random or even potentially patron-voted. The main takeaway is a consistent turnover of fresh content that gets to the good stuff quickly and wraps up in 4-5 months. I'm hopeful that everyone will welcome this change with an open mind! 2. Pinup Polls.
I recently changed the $3 polls to only have 2 characters to help narrow down the votes as I found they were too close in the past, but (as some people probably notice) I've run the well of my personal rule 34 interests dry, and I fear that might create an endless cycle of certain options being outvoted multiple times and never seeing the light of day. To combat that and also expand interests, I would like to make a future post asking those patrons to list characters/series I might not be familiar with to help broaden the roster. I also want to keep doing 'themed' polls like Sidekicks, Villains, Dads ect. since they make it a bit more of a challenge!

3. Community Comics/Discord.

I've been enjoying making the $8 tier comics and having 1 on 1 time with my most dedicated patrons in the private server! Admittedly I'm not the most active in it because I'm usually too busy working on stuff, but I would like to come up with ways to make it more of an interactive experience for y'all. I want to know if there are any incentives (dedicated game nights, streams, ect) that you think would be fun!

4. The Jack Problem.

So I believe last year I mentioned Relations prequel The Days of Wine and Roses was halted indefinitely as I wasn't motivated to make another long project. My initial solution was to turn the story into a novella and publish it through Furplanet like my previous physical releases. I wrote a few chapters and it was (in my opinion, at least), an interesting idea...but I need to address something that's been brought up multiple times: Jack is a villain. He's an abuser, a racist, a rapist, absolutely more than just a product of his time. After the events of last year and the political tension from the insurrection a few weeks ago, I don't think anyone needs to read about the kind of person who stands for everything this country should stand firmly against.  There will be no future projects starring or featuring Jack, and that's something I don't want to budge on. I'm sorry to anyone who was looking forward to it, and I still think there's good material with his backstory, but the world simply doesn't need it right now.

That is all I can think to mention right now, I'm wishing everyone a great 2021 and hopefully we can all leave our homes sometime this year and return to normalcy!
