Hey everyone!

Update time! This time around, the battler which got the 4th place in our July poll, and I can absolutely say, was a blast to conceptualize, draw and animate!

Here's a video preview of her in action!

I'll also take up this chance to announce I'll no longer be including the MV 3-frame format sheet in Librarium animated releases!

This is because there's just no need for it anymore in my opinion, with the release of the KELYEP dragonbones integration plugin! What you see in Baba's and the monster inside the beta demo release are what Librarium Animated monster were always meant to feel and look like, but I actually have a number of reasons as to why I am transitioning Animated Librarium to keep up with times!

  • Overall, smoother, richer animations. MV format is restricted to 3 frames playing at 12 FPS, with dragonbones we can run at smooth 30-60 fps, with as many keyframes as needed!
  • Super Lightweight in filesize and memory usage when compared to the the sheet format! The witch for instance is just 112kb compared to the MV sheet format which is 6-9-20-50mb on average! This is a very good thing.
  • Less time spent arranging frames in MV Format sheets means more free time to continue animating more monsters in the Dragonbones format!
  • Overall, just more potential for animations. For instance, I wouldn't be able to relay all the personality the witch has with Dragonbones, in the MV format!
  • There is no drawback to defaulting to dragonbones format! literally, so long as there are assets for it!
  • You don't have to get rid of the animated SV enemies script, in fact, it powers up some of the features of the dragonbones script, so its not like you have to choose one or the other, in case you need to keep it around for some reason!
  • Skeletal animation is more future proof. Should you ever swap out of RPG maker into another engine, Librarium animations will be ready for your needs!

This is also good news! I'll be converting previous animated monsters to this richer format ASAP, as well as releasing new monsters and the Librarium content you are all used to! And I'll also be further refinign and upgrading the rewards, bundling both .spine and .dragonbones source files ! Also the long awaited return of the icon facesets!

On the 4th I'll be releasing a megapack of odler Librarium battlers with this animation format as well!

Thanks for yoru support as ever, hope you are all excited for what is coming!

Incredible work as always, I totally wasn't expecting to see the witch swinging her broom haha, but it's an immediate example alongside all your great points just how much more freedom the DragonBones format for animation gives you, that totally couldn't happen with the previous restrictions. I'll be even more excited now for each animated battler release because it won't just be the design to anticipate but the animation too, though of course you did your best with the previous format and it worked well I can't wait for these to arrive in the future :). Also that map sprite looks seriously awesome, a great pose for it :), keep up the great work :D thanks for all of your efforts to embrace this new format and the extra learning processes/awareness that have come along with the expansion :).

Every world in my game had a boss. Phoenix for volcano, Anubis for Ancient Ruins, etc. The only one that I couldn't figure out was what to group with the Halloween weekly. My prayers have been answered!
