Hi everybody!

Since I'm currently working on the main menu of the game, I wanted to share more information about how I'm organizing Glassix 2 to make it the best game I think it can be! 

From the image above, you can see the usual game buttons which you should be already familiar with but I think the Editors and Online buttons deserve some more details.

I'm planning to make the game easily customizable. Players will be able to create their own characters, cities, buildings, add their own 3D models in the game with their own textures and so on. From the list above, you can see you'll have access to lots of stuff to add more content to the game and adjust it to your tastes. For v0.4, only the characters editor will be (already is) functional and other editors will come later on. I received many requests for Glassix to add specific characters or add specific events, requests which couldn't be fulfilled due to time and 2D limitations. With Glassix 2, players will be able to easily create their own characters and stories, no coding knowledge will be required (Just basic algorithmic flow understanding though). Everything will come with proper documentation.

And of course, I'll add my own naughty content to the game too so you still get something new to play with each version though it might depend on my workload with all the features to add, I'll see how to split my time once the game is more stable.

As for what's up with the amount of editors, you need to see it as a cascade of content:

  • The game takes place in cities
  • Cities contain infrastructures (Buildings, parks, roads, lights...)
  • Infrastructures contain locations (Bedroom, kitchen, bar, gym, classroom...)
  • Locations contain furniture (Bed, chair, light...)
  • Add characters and their outfits
  • Then add events and you get the list

Complex, yes, but this way, we get full access to the content of the game and can expand easily. I know many among you have awesome ideas for content and are only restricted by coding knowledge so creating a layer of user interfaces to do the coding work for you should give you free reign to unleash your naughty ideas :D

Online menu

Then comes the Online menu which allow players to share and download content easily. For lazy players who don't want to bother creating content, that's the place where you'll be able to access content created and shared by other players so that you get even more to play ;)

Content will come with the usual rating feature to know which content is popular or recent, as well as several filters to hide content not fitting your taste. I know many among you dislike sharing waifus in events so we'll try to tag such events so you can skip them, though such a feature can be tricky to implement if the event has several branches. We'll see when we get there ;)

For players who don't trust the game online stuff, it'll also be possible to simply share zipped mod folders on your favorite forum or website. Whatever makes you feel safe ;)

That's about it for today! I'm aware what I'm detailing is quite ambitious but I have no doubt I'll be able to implement everything I said here given enough time. I'll try to balance time to deliver and quality content so that we don't get delayed too much while still getting good quality content and features. Even now, it's taking more time than expected but this should make v0.4 more stable with more play time.

PS: Who paid attention to the images and noticed the 2 shadows lurking? What could those be?! :D (Their designs are far from finished so no preview at the moment. It's difficult to reproduce the design from Glassix 1 characters, which uses SBPR Studio, made by a Japanese company so Asian appearance, into Glassix 2, which uses Daz models made by an American company so Occidental appearance. I guess I might give them a different appearance in the end to fit the core appearance I had in mind in Glassix: Sexiest femme fatale for Lily and Young and innocent for Anael. Wait and see ;) )

this is shaping up to be really nice. Given the route of customizability, I've curious to see what additional lighting, texture and shading options you'll provide. I assume you'll try to unify/tie up the general aesthetic to some central look.

That's the problem when making stuff customizable, it'll mainly depend on the creators use. I could try to control the content if they use the online feature but that would be a lot of work. The easiest way would be to not control anything (as long as it doesn't break any legal rules) and allow some preview images so that players who want to download stuff can see if it matches their tastes ;)
