Hi everybody,

Been a while since the last weekly news, not really weekly then but hey! Can't find another fitting generic title ;)

Lust Complex

Version 0.7 is coming along slowly and will be out this week. On the menu, 5 new outfits, 4 new hair styles and some new sex animations (not sure how many yet).

I've been spending the last month tinkering with Daz and Unity to make it work together as easily as possible and despite some struggle, I've been able to fix some problems I had before which will be a huge help for my games in the future.

First, I've finally figured out how import 3rd parties animations to Unity easily meaning I should be able to work a bit faster on this, though my long term goal would be to find a 3D artist to handle this part. This will be useful for the basic animations, like idle or talking, less for sex since this part would still require my own work to create the pre cum, cum in, cum out and post cum variations for any sex animations I find online. Plus they usually have way too many keyframes to handle easily so I might just create my own medium quality (or should I say low? :x) until I find somebody to help me.

Secondly, I've also figured out how to create and import my own custom models easily with the body morphs still working. For Lust Complex, I won't need that since I plan to include only 9 outfits (just to match the number of doors) but in my future games, outfits will be more customizable, similar to what you have in Lab Rats 2 for those of you who know (otherwise, I recommend you to try it if you liked Glassix). I might have to create some custom outfits when some parts are lacking such as panties, I have lots of tops and bottoms but not than many panties, I'm also thinking about more kinky stuff, like bandaids panties you have in Illusion games, plus it's easy to create. Anyway, more work and possibilities in perspective.

Thirdly, I've also been working on adding new outfits which had a well known issues in 3D games: high heels. Basically, high heels are a huge headache since they change the angle of the ankle as well as increase the height of the character when basic shoes height difference is usually ignored. I've found a clean solution which automatically fix high heels issues for any shoes, though not 100% fool proof but should be good for Lust Complex and my future games. Here is an image showing the issue and the fix (plus you'll see a new outfit, a new hair style and a new idle pose):

Left side is the default shoes without fix, as you can see, the heel is planted in the ground. My fix adjust the angle of the feet automatically and add some height to compensate the new height gained from the angle, plus bending the toes to get a proper heel effect.

If you've played Illusion games with mods before, you might have encountered similar high heels, the main difference with my fix is that it either add the height to the models itself when standing, so as to not give a weird posture, or it will adjust the feet positions in some situation when the height difference should not be added to the character as a whole, like sitting. Here is an example of what I mean.

Left one is the solution used by Illusion modders since they don't have a choice, the feet are indeed on the ground but the butt is levitating above the couch. My fix will actually impact the feet bones so that the butt remains in the intended position and only the feet, knees and legs would move giving a more natural result.

You also might have noted the boots overlapping issue in the first example on the left  where some parts of the leg appear above the boots, giving an ugly effect. It's a problem which often occurs which tight clothes. I found a solution which should fix most of those small issues, though in case of really extreme poses or morphs (such as being fat + fit), you will still have lots of overlapping issues which I don't plan to fix since it's out of my skills at the moment.

Overall, I've made some nice progress on Lust Complex which will also be useful later on. I expect 1 or 2 more versions before reaching v1.0, I intend to complete it asap with decent content so I can move on to my community tools and next game. A poll will be opened soon to vote for my next game by the way.

Glassix

As announced in the release post, we're reaching the end for Glassix. We're only missing the level 4 of Tokie, Atsuko, Emika and Romita plus the related end game events : good and bad endings, possession and pimping plus some unique events for them. This is the reason why CarpeNoctem had to limit the monthly content to 1 girl only since levle 4 contents much more content than earlier levels. This change was NOT made to leech of my patrons by extending Glassix development time intentionally. I just wanted to clarify that since a patron complained about that. I can understand his feeling but this is not my intention at all. Moreover patrons will have 2 games per month until Lust Complex is released (which should be completed before Glassix by the way) so I don't think I'm really slacking.

Anyway, with 1 level per month and 4 girls, that gives us 4 more months of dev, plus 1 or 2 more months to add the missing and extra events so you can expect a completed Glassix before the end of the year.

What's next

If you read everything, you know Lust Complex should be completed in 1 or 2 months and Glassix by the end of the year. My current plan is as follow:

  • Release a poll to know which of the three games you want in the next few months (though I have a feeling Glassix 2 will win, just a hunch ahah)
  • Once Lust Complex is completed, start working on the Story Teller first, partially. I plan to have 3 different layers of editors to give more depth to the created characters. At first, I'll only focus on the 2 first: "body" and "soul" (basically the appearance and basic information of the characters). Players will be able to create their characters, save them and share them directly in the game.
  • Once the basic editors are working, I'll start working on the new game basic features to make it playable. Since my next games are intended to be more roguelite types, this means playthroughs will be shorter than Glassix but repeatable.
  • Once the basic features are done, then it'll come to the "destiny" editor which will allow players to give life to the worlds with custom events and create whole stories for their characters. And of course, share it (if wanted) with other players.

That's about it for my current plans, a lot of work in perspective but I'm quite eager to get to it. Hopefully, I'll be able to deliver something which has its own unique flavor and keep it fresh for a long time.

Thanks again for your time and support ;)
