Lust Complex: About the furniture (Patreon)

Hey guys,

Here is the second post detailing the features you can expect in Lust Complex v0.2. This time, I'll talk about the furniture you can purchase and how they affect the gameplay.

As explained in my previous post, you'll have to furnish your tenants rooms with furniture which also come in three levels of quality : Crappy, Standard and Deluxe. Once purchased and you select a room where you want to place the furniture, a new panel will be shown as it appears in the image above.

I wanted to make the game more visual rather than textual so it took me some time to figure out a proper way to do so but I think the result should be nice enough for a first version.

There is a set number of furniture slots you can put in each room. The layout of the room can't be changed nor can the furniture positions be changed. When an icon is grayed out, it means there is no furniture at this spot yet. A colored icon shows there is furniture there and the quality of the furniture is visible by the number of grade (the top yellow arrow) appearing. 1 grade is Crappy quality, 2 is Standard and 3 is Deluxe. Finally, the orange border informs the player that a furniture with better quality and in stock can be placed at this slot. In the image above, a crappy toilet and a crappy shower have been purchased and have not yet been placed. If the players had a Standard bed in stock, the bed slot border would appear orange too.

The overall quality of a room ranges from 0 to 100. A Crappy quality furniture is worth 40 points, Standard quality is worth 80 point and Deluxe quality is worth 100 points at the moment (those values might change in future version to better balance the game). By placing high quality furniture, you'll increase the quality faster but it's more expensive. The maximum quality of a room depends on the quality of the room itself. If you built a Crappy room, even if you furnish it fully with Deluxe furniture, the maximum quality of a Crappy room will still be 40 which is enough to satisfy rank E and D tenants, but higher rank tenants will start being dissatisfied resulting in a loss of reputation if you don't upgrade the room.

With this panel, it should be easy and fast to upgrade the rooms.

Additionally, most furniture unlock different blackmail events as well as intercourse positions. I'll start simple at first with some masturbation animations for each possible furniture and of course the usual pee/shower/bath events :p I will expand as more ideas come up in the following months.

Having better quality furniture will increase the quality of the room which will satisfy the tenants resulting in positive gossip, increasing your reputation. You can change the furniture even when a tenant is living in the room but if you downgrade a slot, you'll receive a temporary negative gossip for the next week which amount will increase proportionally to the tenant rank. There will be no gossip bonus if you upgrade a slot though, tenants are bitches :p

This panel is in 2D because it's much easier to handle the room upgrade rather than switching to the 3D view. During the H-scenes or Blackmail scene viewing, you'll be able to see all the furniture in 3D and their appearances will change depending on their quality of course. v0.2 might only contain the Crappy quality though since I'm still missing some 3D models, I'll see if I can find the time for this part but it's not my priority at the moment.

The top right Spycam icon in the above image allows the player to switch to the Spycam furnishing. I'll give more explanation about that in my next post.

The icons still need improvements but that'll come later too :p

I'll finish on a bad news. I have to delay v0.2 for next month because I'm wasting a lot more time than planned on the brain of the game. Since I want the game to have more depth than other similar games, there are a lot of mathematical formulas I have to apply and it's a lot of trial and errors since it's quite complicated to implement, I'm sometimes losing tracks trying to implement what I want. But the result should make the game much more entertaining so it should be worth it. I apologize for this delay and if you'd rather have a refund for this month since v0.2 was supposed to be out by then, send me a message.
