Hi patrons, this one is a pretty big quality update, I hope you'll agree. Physics settings are redone with hard colliders in mind, and physics settings are now customizable.

Check out this tech demo showing the current physics settings and how they interact with hard colliders and the morphing system:

Change log

Physics customization

  • Physics settings can now be customized with offsets. All soft physics settings have multipliers for each group (main, outer, areola, nipple). The offsets don't yet save with the scene/preset though.
  • When adjusting physics offsets, you can select whether to only apply the value to the left breast, allowing you to compare the effect of your changes in real time with the right breast
  • You can also see the current actual value per group, rather than just the multiplier
  • When you've edited a value, going back to the main tab shows an asterisk next to the button label to tell you there's an active offset in that parameter
  • Physics setting min/max values are changed compared to what the default VAM sliders have, and the number of decimals is now also more appropriate for each setting

There's still a lot to do here, e.g. I plan to add more information to each setting (the target angle parameters already have an info text).

Morphing improvements

  • Breasts now morph more than before - previously the high fat back force was holding this back (the combination of force and morphing made breasts slow)
  • This affects both how much breasts morph in animations, but also how easily they droop when leaning forward, flatten when leaning back etc.
  • Removed a 3 frame smoothing effect from breast depth morphing, it seems to work fine without it

Breast gravity improvements

  • Spring is now reduced a lot more when leaning back/forward, and it is also reduced when upside down and leaning to the side, allowing breasts to move much more in those angles
  • Other gravity based adjustments to physics are also amplified

New physics defaults

  • Breasts now behave more naturally - jigglier and quicker, more mobile, they just feel much closer to reality in my view
  • The main improvement here is that hard colliders are now driving the breast movement (in combination with morphing) when collided with, this meant that breast movement due to touch no longer had to rely on the problematic high fat back force
  • Almost all parameters are tweaked in many ways, from what values they get at default softness/quickness, to how the values change with softness and quickness and how they change with breast mass
  • Some parameters now take advantage of the group based multipliers for settings that don't have those in vanilla VAM
  • Low softness values aren't quite so hard now, making values in the 10-50 range more usable/appropriate for fake boobs

This is just the first pass of physics improvements, but the "feel" should be pretty close to how it's going to be in the final release. Let me know what you think!

Hard colliders

  • Hard collider forces are now reduced a bit in the background, and their sizes and positions are tweaked a bit to fit better inside the breast
  • Especially the colliders Pectoral2 and Pectoral5 have quite a bit reduced force, these are closest to the underboob and lowering the force prevented those from causing the breast to flatten (due to morphing) when pushed from below

The toggle to disable hard colliders will be removed in the next version, there's no downside to having them always on. If there's a need to reduce the effect, setting the base force multiplier to minimum does the trick.

Other

  • improved accuracy of calibrating the neutral resting position of breasts for the purpose of force based morphing or other adjustments; it takes a bit longer now though
  • fix refresh triggered from adjusting the softness slider not updating a multiplier that affects how much morphing occurs due to the softness value

Thanks, and enjoy the new release! 😘
