WIP background (Patreon)

I'm exploring ideas for the background of my next piece since the characters are pretty much done. Scifi isn't really my strong suit but it's fun and I do enjoy it. Still, 100% open to suggestions. Really... I mean it. I have no idea WTF I'm doing. :P

This looks like a futuristic greenhouse. Which isn't a bad thing, cause it made me think of how it might fit into the sci-fi narrative. Really, for anything to be sci-fi, all you need is some fantastic new technology. Doesn't even have to be ground-breaking or completely unheard of or original, just stuff that isn't readily available or feasible yet. That's why things like flying cars are still a staple of sci-fi because we don't have those yet, despite us dreaming about them for decades.

Maybe something interesting could be done with the perspex-type windows in the background, letting something else shine through, possibly something like a cityscape. It might add up to a nice contrast seeing the front portion is aiming for a greenhouse-type thing?

Hah. It kinda does. :P At this point, I'm just kinda throwing out ideas to see what sticks. One of the downsides of Aphantasia is I'm flying blind. The final image could look dramatically different from any of the WIPs. It's kind of a "groping around in the darkness" situation.

Aye. :) I was actually thinking about having a city in the background or a planet. I haven't decided yet but I'm definitely not going to leave it blank. I'm kinda leaning towards city because it might look more interesting.
