No one knows the real chairman´s face except the little brother and the two prosecutors. Even if Vincenzo totured that assasin, he wouldn´t know unless there is a name. The chairman goes by 2 names. But Vincenzo has the assasins phone now.

[NO SPOILERS] A Consigliere is a Mafia Boss's advisor, not a lawyer, so they're not connected. As a part of the Cassano Family, Vincenzo meets with other Bosses if his Boss can't do it himself (the guy who died in the first episode was his Boss) and sorts out business between their families or help out the Bosses they're 'friends' with. That's basically what he did with that one Chinese Boss who wanted somewhere to hide his gold. Vince is a legit lawyer (it's not just a front) but he was in the mob before he became a lawyer (he'll talk about it in the show a little bit). It's kind of like he can't go out and tell people he's in the mafia, so him being a lawyer is something he can actually say. And it helps to get anyone in his family out of trouble without telling a stranger all their business. So not a lot of people outside the mafia setting know who he really is but he has a lot of connections as a lawyer. In a way, Vince is kind of like the secondhand to the Boss and holds as much authority. But since his Boss died, Paulo took over because he's the biological heir to the Cassano Family, not because Vince isn't qualified to do it. The mafia has this whole thing about heirs which is basically like royalty/monarchy. Also, the dude on the phone who told him someone was snooping around was Luca, the guy that drove him to the estate in the first episode. This is a lot and I'm sorry but I hope it helped. I thought someone else would've tried to explain this.

After you get done with Vincenzo you should definitely watch The K2 next please its very good. It's really worth it.
