Greetings, Patrons! Zaina and I are hard at work on the River City Girls piece. Thanks to Spriter's Resource, I was able to see how the game itself handles its Character Portraits.

They start with a basic body model...

...with each facial expression separated, then overlaid during conversations. Knowing this, I based this project's visuals off of that concept. Currently, all four of our stars have taken their rightful seats, but we're in the middle of giving them the poses they need to express themselves while sitting down.

Meanwhile, we've begun to put together a sheet of faces. Take a look!

As you can see, each face lays perfectly on top of this model and pose. Persona 5, it turns out, handles its portraits similarly, and the Lip Flap during Kawakami's Beachside Blowout turned out to be a very useful tutorial in animating portraits and changing their facial expressions. It's quite easy to do with Premiere, which allows you to copy and paste only the properties of a clip rather than the clip itself. This is on track to be my most expressive audio project to date!

Look forward to more updates soon.
