Hey all!

A bit of a late one getting this last bunch of Wild Woods content to you sorry, but it's been one heck of a month! Team MAD continue to work at a brilliant rate and we're really excited to show you what they've been working on (more on that later)

For now, here are another batch of maps for Wild Woods that are now available on MyAirBridge and in the Foundry module. As with the rest of the theme, all of these maps come with day/night variants (and sometimes more!)

Landslide is a lengthy pass through rocky steppes, with a fork in the road. A variant is available where a huge landslide has occurred, blocking off most of the pass and bringing a lot of the treeline and foliage down with it!

For our Foundry users, this map is our first official foray into using the Monk's Active Tiles module for The MAD Cartographer. A TMC icon is visible to the DM off the edge of the map with instructions. Double-clicking the icon will cause the landslide tile to be revealed over the course of a few seconds, as well as playing a landslide sound effect to your players! We're excited to bring more interactivity like this to our maps going forward, where appropriate.

Troll Bridge takes place around a steady stream in the middle of a forest. If you venture beneath the bridge itself, you'll find the entrance to a small cave system full of corpses, pillaged loot, and a nesting chamber. Is this where your typical bridge-dwelling Troll lives, or is it something more sinister?

Druid Forest showcases a segment of the deep woods that is home to a ritual site. There are ancient menhirs, as well as a small encampment with a magical leaf bed tucked off nearby. In addition to the Day/Night maps, we've also included a variant where the magic of the stone circle has awakened at night.

Granny's Pie Shack is a large map that Alex has kept coming back to and making tweaks, changing ideas, for over a year now - Truly a labour of love!

This large map works for a social or a combat encounter - an enormous tree trunk deep in the forest that has a beautifully illuminated dining area outside. An enchanting pie cart sits outside, from where Granny might sell her wares as she travels around the region.

Deeper within the tree, those who find their way into the back chambers may discover the more sinister side of the pie-baking process, including a gruesome secret chamber in the rotten heart of the tree.

We do hope you enjoy using these maps as much as we enjoyed creating them! Forests is always a popular theme and is one we'll inevitably return to in the future.

December Theme: Pick'n'Mix 4

This December, we've decided it's about time for another Pick'n'Mix pack.

For those of you who haven't been with us for long, every so often we like to throw the monthly theme out of the window and let the team stretch their creative legs and pitch ideas for maps that don't tie in to any consistent theme. This has often led to some extremely original, risky, and daring maps that would otherwise perhaps be too niché for any of our regular themes.

The team are hard at work developing this round of Pick'n'Mix content, and it includes such maps as:

  • A series of platforms in the Clockwork Nirvana of Mechanus
  • A gothic-inspired Vampire night club
  • A gingerbread house in gumdrop valley
  • A shrine to a linked flame, where some chosen undead may lurk...

and many more!

We can't wait for you to see what we've been working on, in the meantime here are some heavily work-in-progress previews!

Keep rollin' those 20s folks!
Alex, Harrison & Team MAD
