if end product was sufficient volume, would have been great to measure purity of test batch to then also show how much better results of final batch are (plus i guess in mass vs out mass on final batch, but you normally do that)

This is a great video. Thanks for keeping and taping it. While watching it I had a ton of questions. I am really interested in the process and the discovery that happens when you are learning on the fly. At what temp does these test tubes melt like that? At what temp does these shatter like that? Can they be reused once they have gone over a certain temp?

they are borosilicate glass and start to soften at around 1000f. Test tubes can be reused if undamaged and you are willing to clean them but are generally considered to be disposable.
