I still have the camera rolling but I downloaded the first few days to make sure everything was going well and it is! Infact I learned something from this; watermelons (and presumably other fruits) do not grow at a constant rate!

I noticed this with my Peppers. They don't grow very much when the hot sun is on them but once they have shade they put out a ton of growth. I get the feeling that the plant doesn't want the new cells it's producing to die or otherwise lose water from the light of the sun.

That's interesting. I wonder if the plant is switching over from storing energy to using energy for growth based on levels of light. Is there an optimal period/cycle of light for maximal growth? And if so, I wonder if indoor plants could actually grow faster overall if they do not have grow lights on 24/7, but are instead on some optimal schedule.

I have seen box shaped melons in the past. I was wondering how many plants will allow shaping and how many shapes?

Sunflower can follow the sun because one side of the plant grows during the day (and follow the sun) and the other side grows during the night (to reset). As they ages they finnaly stop turning and keep the flower facing east (mostly). that's what youtube told me anyway :P

Some experiement maybe, i also heard that if you put a plant close to a rock it will produce more because the rock retain the heat from the sun longer after sunset. would be nice to see if two plant from the same species give different result depending if they are close to a rock or not.

Absolutely incredible to watch. And amazing how it still grows at night while the sun is down.

Do you still have a County Fair where you are currently living, if so could you enter those? Or go to one at the ranch, I heard you mention entering some produce in an older hydroponics videos of yours, but these seem a bit bigger than those.
