Around here we call it woody nightshade, and the smell and taste of the fruit is rather unpleasant--kind of rancid, almost bloody. Is yours like that?

Tamarillos and Cape Gooseberries are some other members of the Solanaceae family that should be available and might be worth trying to grow. S. quitoense and sessiliflorum also sound like they would be delicious, but I have not been able to get or taste them.
