I was thinking a lichen or red cabbage juice, I think both are PH sensitive.

Red cabbage would change to a different color under acid, so it's not that.

Some kind of Litmus? I know it's not blue under alkaline conditions and not red under acid but maybe a diluted staining?

I can't find a ph indicator that turns yellow with a base that is non toxic. But Cody considers chemicals "non-toxic" if he stays below the lethal dose. Hence the drinking cyanide video. Otherwise I'd guess methyl orange?

Im betting its Tumeric, i know dies skin, and works as a ph indicator, although i think it is reversed red/yellow basic/acidic
