I sat up in surprise when I heard voices and footsteps approaching.

Surprise that was made greater when I recognized the words.

(Whew! That must be Rose and Kyo!)

(Talk about a relief! Guess they made it through okay!)

Narration

Reassured that my friends were alright and that I would soon be rescued, I got up onto my feet and started scanning my surroundings. Looking for any sign of Rose and Kyo.

Only for my eyes to go wide when I saw a pair of bunny ears flopping over a nearby wall...
