I like this concept of the characters fighting back against censorship from 'the horde' (conservative mainstream, 'moral' majority, conformity, 'normies'?) by exceeding their tolerance for alternative tastes and making them switch off. Viva la 'exxxtreme'! Death to 'vanilla'!
